Helsinki Cathedral is the Finnish Evangelical Lutheran Church of Helsinki in the Diocese of Helsinki. It is located in Parliament Square in the center of Helsinki, Finland. The church was originally built from 1830 to 1852 as a tribute to the Russian Tsar Nicholas I of Finland. It was also known as the Church of St. Nicholas before Finland's independence in 1917. It is the main landmark of Helsinki.
