Beishan National Forest Park is located in the northeast of Huzhu Tu Autonomous County, Qinghai Province, at an altitude of 2100-4308 meters, with a total area of 1,127 square kilometers, forest coverage rate of 64.3%, forest accumulation of 428.86 thousand cubic meters, and two Tibetan townships. The park is conveniently located 220 kilometers from Lanzhou City, 110 kilometers from Xining City and 78 kilometers from the county. The peaks in the territory, the mountains and clear waters are beautiful, the sky is high and the clouds are light, the air is clean, and the plateau features are prominent. It is a resort for tourism avoidance, recuperation and popular science inspection. It is one of the first national ecological education bases for protecting the mother river action. It is also the only ecological environment in Qinghai Province with forest natural landscape as the main body. The park was rated AAAA-level tourist scenic spot by the National Tourism Administration in 2000.
