The bridge was originally built in 1902, originally known as the "World Bridge". After the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japan, the National Government named the bridge after Chiang Kai-shek, and changed the "World Bridge" to "Zhongzheng Bridge". After the liberation of Tianjin in 1949, the bridge was officially renamed "Liberation Bridge". Today, Jiefang Bridge has been through the vicissitudes of the majestic position, telling people about China's modern industrial history.
