Jiegu Monastery Review

Jiegu Temple is located in Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture and is the largest monastery in the region. The monastery is built on the mountain, with a magnificent atmosphere and many monk houses, rising step by step along the hillside, shaped like a regular hive. The temple is home to many treasures, such as Sakyamuni Tangka, the statue of the mother of the goddess, and the magnificent Manidu and Stone City, where visitors can visit and pray for blessings. Here you can feel the solemn atmosphere and people's piety towards the Buddha.

　Located on the ancient mountain of Dongjie in Yushujie Ancient Town, Tibetan called "Jiegu Dunzhuxuan" meaning "Jiegu Yichengzhou" is the main temple of the Sakya school in Qinghai Province. The main buildings are: 2 Jingtang, 220 monk houses, and the main building "Du Wenzhou Jiacuo" can accommodate 100 chanting. The Sutra, the Jokhang Palace, the Maitreya Palace, the Gana and the Wenbao Living Buddha Palace have their own characteristics. There is "the world's first big pile", the mani pile is carved with six words of the true word "ah, bammy", translated into Chinese "ah! on the Lotus seat of the Buddha! oh! "Some mani stone also inscribed with scriptures or Buddha statues, countless "mani stone" rows together to form a column of stone walls. At present, there are2.6 million Mani stones, forming a Mani stone city. The stone walls and gates are all printed with colored scriptures and Buddha statues, and a red tower is erected in the center of the stone city. Jiegu Temple is located in the east of Jiegu Town, with magnificent architecture, many monks, rich cultural relics, many monks and high-level monks in Tibetan areas of China. The temple monk houses are scattered and towering on the hillside. The Mani Stone Studio of Jiegu Temple is famous in the world, and the first Segana living Buddha settled in the village of Dongxinzhai in his later years, and built Manidui here, known as "Ganamanidu" and "Xinzhai Manidu". With the passage of years, the Mani stone pile here has become larger and larger, and more than 2.5 billion Mani stone has been accumulated over 200 years, which can be called the "world's largest mani pile" and has become an excellent representative of Tibetan religious culture.

The existence of the ancient temple is very powerful. You can see it everywhere in Yushu City, and the sun shines beautifully when it comes out. When I went, because the weather changed so much that the ancient temple looked a lot, and I saw its various "faces". It is tired to walk (about 20 minutes), but there is nothing good on the road. You can drive to the top.

位于玉树结古镇东结古山上，藏语称“结古顿珠楞”意为“结古义成洲”为萨迦派在青海省内的主寺，主要建筑有：经堂2座，僧舍220间，主体建筑“都文舟嘉措”可容纳100所哇诵经。讲经院、大昭殿、弥勒殿、嘉那和文保活佛院都各具特色。这里有“世间第一大嘛呢堆”，嘛尼堆由刻有六字真言“啊嘛呢叭咪哞”的嘛呢石垒成，译为汉语“啊！莲座上圣佛！噢！”有的嘛尼石还刻有经文或佛像，无数“嘛尼石”排一起构成一列经石墙。目前已有2.6亿块嘛尼石,形成了一座嘛尼石城。石墙、门巷皆挂印有经文、佛像的彩色经帆，石城中央竖立一红色神塔。结古寺位于结古镇东，以建筑宏伟、寺僧众多、文物丰富、多名僧高徒在我国藏区闻名遐迩。殿堂僧舍错落有致，高耸于山岗之上。结古寺的嘛尼石堆闻名于世界，第一世嘉那活佛晚年时定居于镇东新寨村，并在此修建嘛尼堆，人称“嘉那嘛尼堆”、“新寨嘛尼堆”。随着岁月的流逝，这里的嘛尼石堆体积越来越大，200多年间堆积25亿多块嘛尼石，堪称“世界第一大嘛尼堆”，成为藏族宗教文化的优秀代表。　　寺院依山而建，殿堂僧舍错落。历史上一直是玉树北部地区萨迦派主寺，1937年藏历十二月一日，九世班禅却吉尼玛圆寂于此。嘉那佛是该寺最大活佛，与内地关系非常密切，故称“嘉那朱古”（汉族活佛之意），嘉那佛独创了称为“多顶求卓”的100多种舞蹈，从而使玉树成为歌舞之乡。
