Kendall Town is the centre of culture and commerce in the Lake District and one of the historical centres of British wool textiles.

Because it is named after the Kent River, it should not be within the Lake District, but there is a direct train, which is one of the gateways to the Lake District. The most famous is the Mint Cake here. It is a bit sweet and mint taste.
