Korean War Veterans Memorial Review

Traveling to the city, walking around, running attractions, to the Korean War Veterans (Deaths) Monument, which was built in Washington, DC in 1995 to commemorate American and United Nations soldiers killed in the Korean War. The creation of such a “Korean War Veterans (Deaths) Monument” was mentioned after the completion of the Vietnam War Memorial Wall. The US Congress authorized the US War Memorial Committee to establish such a monument to honor American citizens of both sexes who had served the country in North Korea (public law filed on October 28, 1986). President Ronald Reagan then appointed a team of advisers to the Korean War Memorial Wall to help carry out the work. In September 1988, the US War Memorial Committee approved the planned memorial wall in Washington, DC, on the southwest side of Ash Woods Lincoln Memorial. President George W. Bush laid the foundation for the memorial park on June 14, 1992. On July 27, 1995, the 42nd anniversary of the Korean Armistice Agreement, President Clinton and President Kim Yongsan of South Korea attended the unveiling. This is a building designed and managed by the "Veterans Memorial Advisory Committee of the Korean War and the American War Memorial Committee". Now, the memorial has been handed over to the National Park Service's National Mall and Historical Memorial Park Group. The monument is built in a triangular inner circle wall, about 50 meters long and about 20 cm thick, and more than 100 tons of black granite shipped from California, with more than 2,500 photographs or archival photos showing the wall in sandblasting. The circle contains a memorial pool, a 9-meter-diameter black granite shallow pool surrounded by trees, engraved with the number of dead, injured, missing and imprisoned.

It echoes the Vietnam War monument, separated by a reflection pool, this monument does not have the Vietnam War, with the same material on the top of a lot of white relief statues, next to the small flower pool there are many statue sculptures.

The southwest side of the Lincoln Memorial is a Korean War memorial, and after the tour, it is amazing. Amazed by the plainness of the concept, the black granite "freedom is not free" inscription, is a real truth. Aweeded by the ingenuity of the design, 19 stainless steel soldiers statues reflected in the monument wall, 38 soldiers are telling people that war starts on the 38th line and ends on the 38th line~ Peace is more important than war.

In Washington, DC. What is displayed here is different from what we learned at home. On the ground, it is commemorated here, a group of young people, heeding the call of their country, to defend a country that has never heard of and people that have never seen. Think about the three fat families, there is no one to worry about. Ugh. . .

I don't know how Americans think about this war, is it a memorial? Is it a reflection? I just know that after resisting the United States and aiding the DPRK, the Chinese people have stood up since, the Chinese army has morale, and the United States and the countries that bullied us in the past no longer dare to look at China in the eye. Look at that statue group, American soldiers, one by one, fearful. Long live China!

The Korean War was the only war that had not been won since the American War of Independence. For more than 200 years, the United States always signed the victory book, and only the Korean War was signed on the armistice agreement. The war left a psychological shadow on Americans, and the veterans monument was a group of lost soldiers.
