The Tianshou Pavilion in Kumamoto City burned during the Southwest War in 1877, was later rebuilt and damaged in the 2016 earthquake, and is now seen as repaired. There is a ginkgo plant in the square in front of the Tianshou Pavilion in Kumamoto City. There is a nickname for "Ginkgo City" because of this ginkgo, plus the Kato Shrine is said to have Kato Qingzheng planted by himself, but it was also burned in the southwest war. The ginkgo that is now seen is a new bud that has re-grown after the fire. There are many precious cultural relics in Kumamoto City inside the Tianshou Pavilion, and many photography is prohibited for the protection of cultural relics.
