传说是清朝时有一位叫做满都海的蒙古族女性政治家在这个地方待过，所以为了纪念她而建设的现在的满都海公园，景色怡人又在市中心，非常好！

满都海公园布局紧凑，造景手法多样，主景与背景虚实结合，山、路、桥、水巧妙相连，形成一幅优美的画面。满都海公园有树木2万余株，有上个世纪50年代保留下来的5000余株杨柳，树干粗大，枝叶繁茂；有300余株油松、松柏、杜松，四季常青；还有3000余株丁香、榆叶梅、红玫瑰、黄剌梅……公园开辟水面6公顷，上岸台阶4处，打水源井2眼，构成一道湖溪相连的双循环水系。园内处处有灯，那环湖灯、云石灯、七彩灯、高杆灯，一到夜晚，灿若繁星，清光照人。湖面上修筑了小桥8座，还有庭廊3处，供你信步游览。园内有蒙古包、花卉温室、花展馆，满目鲜花，竞艳争芳。

公园位于呼和浩特主城区，交通便利，园内植被丰茂，湖区开阔，安静整洁，环境清幽，免费对游客开放。
