Located in the center of Maria Square, the Column of the Virgin Mary is a column with a statue of the Virgin Mary on the top of the column, the golden statue of the Virgin Mary in the arms of the Holy Child. The Column was built in 1683 to commemorate Munich's successful separation from Swedish rule.
