Change of ChefMy very good Thai friend, Khun Srisuda, today shouted me lunch at Masala, which I haven''t been to for months.Masala has been closed a few times due to the illness of the owner''s wife, who has been sick. But now her sister has taken over the kitchen and everything is running smoothly. We started with a goat curry to die for, served with rice and flakey roti. The curry had a subtle aroma, with none of the strong goat meat smell so common, with a delicate hint of cardamon seed.We also had chicken satays with a wonderful homemade peanut sauce. Again a total winner.Khun Srisuda loves steak, so she also ordered the t-bone, which was okay as t-bones go, and while it was obviously halal, being served in a Muslim restaurant, I did not rate it as an addition to our Muslim cuisine lunch experience.Masala is an alcohol free restaurant. You also need to check that it is open before heading all the way there, because it closes during Muslim holidays, such as Ramadan.
