The prime minister's statue is located in the South Gate of Nankai University, opposite the Taida Hotel on Fukang Road. From this gate, it is a large square. In the middle, a tall stone statue of Premier Zhou Enlai is on a high platform. Behind him, it is the landmark building of Nankai University and the tall main building. The tall image of the prime minister, smiling at Nankai students, expresses deep hope for them. At his feet, he writes a few big words "I am Ainankai" with his life introduction on the back. This tall stone statue echoes the monument of the Prime Minister of Horseshoe Lake, built in 1979, and has become the most famous landscape of Nankai University. In 1917, Zhou Enlai graduated from Tianjin Nankai Middle School with excellent results. He was affirmed and praised by the principal Zhang Boling. He was called the best student in Nankai by the principal. After graduation, he got the opportunity to study in Japan. In 1919, Nankai University was founded. After learning about the establishment of Nankai University, Zhou Enlai, 21, gave up the opportunity to study in Japan and returned home. He entered the Liberal Arts Department of Nankai University free of examination and became the first student of Nankai University. After the founding of New China, the Premier visited Nankai University three times, reflecting his concern and love for his alma mater. Looking at the lofty and cordial portrait of the Prime Minister, we deeply realize that today's happy life is hard won, and we must not forget the efforts and expectations of our ancestors.
