The old city is the most worthwhile place to visit in Hanoi, including Huanjian Lake and its nearby streets. It has Vietnamese style as well as colonial French style. The narrow storefront is the embodiment of the western tax system.

very convenient place to live when visiting Hanoi. You can find anything you need within walking distance to hotels. Good spot for tours to pick up. Stores, cafes and restaurants close late too.

Old Quarter is the main tourist area in Hanoi, there are lots of food streets are there, especially Ta Hien Corner is also known as The Beer Street, is a great food street. The weekends in Ta Hien is so much positive vibe and positivity. A great place of weekend hangout for both tourists and natives. A must visit place for sure. St. Joseph Cathedral, Hoan Kiem Lake and Train Street is very near to this old quarter. only walkable distance. A great place.

Full of energy and life. You’ll find lots of food options and most of Hanoi’s attractions are in the area. Take a day to stroll around.

This is the other side of the city. most of the buildings here are from the colonists era and people's lifestyle here is more on traditional way. the streets are busy and you can buy souvenirs at a cheaper price.

tranquility of the capital on the 1st of the new year. though it is a day off for many, people don't really celebrate it.

Travel back in time in Hanoi Old Quarter. Narrow streets, old buildings, tiny dwellings, small shops and restaurants. Traffic and crowded pavements make your walk a very tiring one for your shoes. Easy to get lost even with a map. Food is cheap but do not expect to find very good quality food. Except for coffee which is excellent and cost as much or more than a bowl of Pho or noodles.
