Yuanmingyuan, as the representative of ancient Chinese imperial gardens. It has an irreplaceable position and represents the integration of Chinese traditional imperial gardens and Western architectural styles. Yuanmingyuan is located in the north of Haidian District, the western suburb of Beijing. It is the imperial garden built by the five emperors of the Qing Dynasty. It has been crowned by the world with many good names, such as garden of ten thousand gardens model of world gardens Oriental Versailles Palace etc. Yuanmingyuan consists of Yuanmingyuan, Changchun and Qichunyuan. Now, most of the Yuanmingyuan we see have been renovated, because after the destruction of the great powers, there are almost no survivors. Yuanmingyuan is divided into two scenic spots - "Fuhai scenic spot, Jiuzhou scenic spot. This Eight Diagrams Array is the place where the former Emperor entertained himself. But this building is also built according to the original shape, scaled down and restored. But I can vaguely feel the lively scenes here in the past. The style of construction is based on the combination of the Eight Diagrams Array in ancient China and the labyrinth in the West. In the past, the construction of royal gardens paid special attention to "water", so we can also see the water culture of the whole Yuanmingyuan scenic spot. Water area accounts for most of the area. In the middle of the waters, there are pavilions and pavilions dotted with stars. This design also reflects the royal majesty and atmosphere. Dashuifa, here has now become a synonym for Yuanmingyuan. In textbooks, or in the propaganda reports of Yuanmingyuan, it has become the symbol of Yuanmingyuan. Many people who have never been here think it is the gate of Yuanmingyuan, but in fact it is not. This is only a scenic spot of the Western Tower, which was also a place for the emperor to see the water spray. The Yuanmingyuan scenic spot also has a separate exhibition hall, which is a unified display and preservation of the cultural relics excavated during the restoration and reconstruction of the time. Looking at the remains of debris and relics, we can see the exquisite craftsmanship and hunger of that year, and the elegance of Royal architecture. But it is painful to see the damaged cultural relics here. So many great treasures have been destroyed by Western powers. Yuanmingyuan is the greatest humiliation in Chinese history. Now the times are developing, while economic development, many young people have forgotten the history, but the high-speed development of the economy should not forget the humiliation in the past. Culture and history cannot be buried. Today's young people should come here, take a look, always alert themselves. Don't forget the national shame, remember the history.

Gaze at the swans occupying these once meticulous man-made lakes and look upon the destruction wrought by Western imperialism. There's lots to be seen here if your imagination works well and sections of non reconstructed original buildings which bring history to life.

Compared to the hustle and grandure of the nearby Summer Palace, Yuanmingyuan is a serene and quiet alternative. Stroll through vast gardens and cool off next to calm ponds

Although most of the structures have been destroyed, but this is a place that everyone should visit. Looking at the ruins, you can only imagine how glorious this place was and see the brilliance of the architect, engineer and the workmanship.

Was lucky enough to go on a sunny day that was not crowded! Mid-morning is best, and it’s good to spend at least 2 hours here. Easy by ride share or subway/walk. There’s a lot of history, and the site is massive in terms of ruins and unkept landscape. Perfect April-September.

Particularly beautiful during wintertime to me. It’s cold, but less crowds and everywhere can be picture background. recommended
