Patuxay means Victory Gate and is located right in the center of the capital of Laos. It was built to remember the soldiers who fought for independence from France. It was designed by a Laotian architect and when I view the monument, I feel that it looks a bit like the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. We bought tickets to go up the top. The city view is so breathtaking and we could see four directions. Before reaching the top, we saw four towers at four corners which look as nice as the main monument. On the ground there are very nice palm trees and ponds. Traffic around the monument looks like no one is rushing as all are passing through a very beautiful symbol of the country. The monument and decorations are stunning to me. I’m so impressed.
