King Lao's steps are located in Tongwang City, just north of the war elephant platform. The platform, about 7 meters high, was the Royal crematorium at that time. It was named after a gender-free statue of King Sao at the top of the platform. The statue you see now is a replica. The original is kept in the Phnom Penh National Museum. There are many exquisite relief reliefs on the walls around the platform, which are the essence of the king's steps.
