The temple was built in 641 in the middle of the 7th century and was built by Princess Wencheng. It is located about 500 meters north of Barkhor Street in Lhasa, Tibet. It is called "Kanda Woodcut" in Tibetan. The existing construction area of the temple is 4,000 square meters.
