My boyfriend and I took a two week trip to Europe over the holiday; we stayed at the Phoenix hotel on our last night, and had dinner at the hotel's restaurant, von Plessen. The dinner options are prix-fixe two, three, or four-course: we took the two, which was 295DKK. We also ordered the cheapest glass of wine on the list, a Pinot Grigio for 50DKK a pop. Everything else was 90DKK and up. I had a veal appetiser with beets, onions, and a mustard sauce. Wasn't great. For the main course I had a beef tenderloin, and it was cooked beautifully. I was very satisfied with this part of the meal. Five stars for the steak. Boyfriend had the duck and said it was good. He had a cheese plate after, and this was a highlight!! Excellent cheeses and delicious bread. We devoured this plate. Overall the experience was average. We paid 800DKK for the meal and it only felt just okay. There was very strange music playing in the restaurant and the table cloth had a dirty spot. The bread served while we were waiting was cold. I felt that for the amount of money we spent it could've been better.
