The South China Botanical Garden of the Chinese Academy of Sciences was formerly the Institute of Agroforestry and Plants of Sun Yat-sen University in Taiwan, founded in 1929 by the famous botanist Chen Huanxuan; in 1954, it was renamed the South China Botanical Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences; In October 2003, it was renamed the South China Botanical Garden of the Chinese Academy of Sciences; in 2008, the South China Botanical Garden of the Chinese Academy of Sciences was named a national AAAA-level tourist attraction by the National Tourism Administration.
