St. Anthony's Shrine, Kochchikade Review

Very beautiful church, also a relatively long-standing church in Colombo, there are many believers, we waited until the end of the service before going in to visit, the white building is very eye-catching and the decoration inside is quite gorgeous

The first thing that comes to mind when you see a place of religion is a place of smoke and lameness, where many believers, one of whom is fighting to light candles to worship, are kneeling and praying in a country with mixed religions and ethnic characteristics.

It is advised to keep your voice down and not visit during the ceremony. The relief outside the door must be visited. It's very close to the Hindu temple and it's on foot. There is no parking at the entrance. Cars should be paid attention to.

After Easter Sunday, the historic church in downtown Colombo is now open for worship. People of different faiths come to the deep and ancient Catholic church for peace and comfort. The nearly 200-year-old shrine, written as the "Miracle Church," attracts a large number of devout believers, especially on Tuesday. The archdiocese's archives show that the original muddy church was built in 1806 by Antonio, a respected priest in Cochin (located in Kerala, India), and that the church is now being consecrated in 1834. The original statue of St. Anthony is from Goa, India and is still worshipped in the church. From the outside, this beautiful church looks like a Dutch/Portuguese colonial building, but inside it is a subcontinental architectural style. This is not a normal church, it should be listed on the “must visit” list in Colombo.

Catholic churches are always so beautiful, compared with Buddhist temples, they seem to have little restraint. It's small and quiet. Only in such an environment can we be quiet. Christians all over the world like to sing hymns here.
