St James Beach Review

This is definitely one of the most beautiful beaches in Cape Town. It's also easy to get there by train from Cape Town and about two hours. It's a day's trip to the beach, swimming and eating there.

This was a great beach to grow up next to, when I lived in the area. The walled off pool in the sea means you don't have to deal with dangerous currents, or the increasingly more common visits from sharks. I had a lot of good times here, it's such a well looked after place, and doesn't get too busy. Great for families.By the way, the main photo shown is not St James beach, that's Middle Brighton beach. Not sure why that's there. Only the changing booths are similar.

South Africa's marine resources are good, not many people.

A good beach for families with small kids, but it may be difficult to find parking. There is a station so it is possible to use the train.
