St. Lawrence’s Church Review

St. Louis Sao Church, also known as the Hyacinth Church (or Fengshun Church), is a famous cathedral in Macau, covering a large area. The two rows of stone steps in front of the church directly reach the gate, full of style, palm trees planted in the garden, and ancient chandeliers hanging in the church, which is solemn and distinctive. The Hyacinth Church was built in 1569 and was renovated several times. The whitewashing in 1979 added to the old church's luster. The church is magnificently designed, with the clock tower facing each other, one is a clock, for the time, one is a copper clock, for the church Mass. The roof of the church is Chinese-style gold tiled, and the interior decoration is full of Oriental colors and quaint fun. The hall is spacious and magnificent, with huge beams and exquisite chandeliers, and the statue of St. Louis Zoe, which is worshipped at the altar, is solemn in a beautiful robe, holding a Bible in one hand, and a cannon in one hand.
