Spent a night over on the island and were looking for something for dinner. Couldn't decide - had been on a business trip in Boston and were used to eating big every night on the expense account. Nantucket is definitely a target-rich environment if you're looking for a fine-dining experience, but after a week or so of that, we had a little bit of restaurant fatigue. So in looking at number of restaurants and menus in town on the island we weren't seeing much that appealed to us - all big, heavy, formal dining type spots. Walked by a cross street and the wife saw the sign for Sushi by Yoshi, and something cool and fresh sounded perfect. This place was the perfect antidote for formal dining fatigue; just a little place with very few tables inside and a very plain interior. We unfortunately dined at the same time as a VERY loud and rowdy crew of folks, and were glad when they left and the wife and I could talk to each other without shouting or listening to the ear-splitting laughter and anecdote-telling of that one table. Sushi was very good - the only concern here was that the nori seemed a little chewy and maybe not freshly toasted. Also, be warned - this place is BYOB, which is nice in some ways, but will involve a separate run out to the liquor store about 3 blocks away (which is a very reasonably priced spot, though the selection of single beers isn't exactly stellar). Come prepared.
