Hokkaido University has accumulated more than 4 million specimens/data collected, preserved and studied since the time of the Agricultural School more than 130 years ago. This includes more than 10,000 valuable original specimens that can be used as a basis for the discovery and certification of new species. The Hokkaido University Comprehensive Museum, which opened in spring 1999, has introduced the most advanced research with various physical materials and images while inheriting the tradition of such diverse research from Hokkaido University to the present day. The museum's information setup tells us about history and the future. Allow visitors to focus on the "story" behind each item and think and learn from it.
