Dunedin's octagonal square is the central square here, as the name implies, this square is an octagonal square, in each corner has a very famous local building, it can be said that this is the center of Dunedin's unquestionable place, Definitely a must visit place.

Octagon Square is the center of Danitin, in an octagonal shape, but Danitin City Hall and St. Paul's Cathedral stand on the side of the square, and at the lower level is the bar promenade, where pigeons fly and stop, everything is leisurely. St Paul's Cathedral is a 19th century European castle-style building that is very rare in New Zealand, with columns up to 40 meters high bearing the only stone-shaped arched roof in New Zealand. In the centre of the square stands a large statue of Robert Pence, Scotland's famous Romantic poet, who died early at 37, wrote more than 600 extremely beautiful poems in his short life, and you may not know his name. But you will sing his poem "Friendship Long and Long". On the southeast side of the octagonal square, there is also the famous first church of denizen, the top 60 meters high spire stacked, is the most eye-catching destination in the city of denizen. The statue of Pence is directly opposite the Danitin Railway Station, a small and exquisite station, very interesting.

A must see here in Dunedin. There are statues, public places, some markets and some good shops. There are shops selling souvenirs and other items. The visitor center is also there. The staff at the visitor center are helpful and know a lot and can help you with sightseeing guides. My favorite store is Sue Todd Antiques, Su has some lovely things in the store, that's where I spend most of my money!
