In the end of the Southern Song Dynasty in 1278, Kublai led the Yuan Army to the border, and the guard of Tongyuanmen vowed not to fall to death and died in blood. In 1644, in Ming Chongxu 17 years, Zhang Xianzhong led 600,000 army horses to siege Chongqing, and after 6 days of heavy fighting, he broke through Tongyuanmen to occupy Chongqing. "Several times the city broke the Guanshan, countless clouds and moon hanging." Due to the long time, the military and the dryge, Tongyuanmen and its city wall site was seriously damaged. In order to protect the important historical relics of the mountain city, the People's Government of Yuzhong District, Chongqing City launched the construction of Tongyuanmen City Wall Site Park in 2004. Cheng, completed and opened in 2005. Now the Heping Road Tunnel is on the sidewalk side of Minsheng Road Street in the direction of Linjiangmen. You can see the Tongyuanmen and the old city wall site built by Linya. In 2013, it has become a key cultural relics protection unit in the country. The remaining ancient city wall at one end leads to Jintang Street, and the other end extends to the Heping Road tunnel door, about 100 meters long. The old Tongyuanmen city gate towering high in the middle of the city wall can be picked up along dozens of steps. One of the double-layered door holes faces Qixinggang out of the city, and the other doorway is Jintang Street, which is in the old city. The original word "Kezhuang Qianqiu" is engraved on the city gate. It is regrettable that the original word has not existed after the long weathering. When repaired, it is changed to the three words "Tongyuanmen". The street under the city wall has been built in the ruins square, a group of ancient battles against the city towers of carved bronze statues live and live: the general leaps and turns the sword, the soldiers brave the stone and the ladder, the soldiers guard the city struggle to resist, the sword lightsaber shadow battle scene vividly reproduced.
