According to the Old Street Museum, during the Qingdao light years, "five-kou business" provided new business opportunities for Hui merchants, Tunxi green tea export surged, and the old street tea trade was unprecedentedly prosperous. Tunxi became a heavy town in southern Weinan during the Republic of China, and the commercial contact with the outside world was more frequent. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, the old street better preserved its original style. After the reform and opening up, the old street prospered.
