I was married this past weekend in Villa Montalto, which is a stone's throw from the city of Florence (very convenient for out-of-town guests). My (now) husband and I had heard great things about the venue based on a personal recommendation and it was backed up by reviews we saw online. From the beginning, Alberto was intuitive and helpful as we planned the details of our wedding day. Since it was this November, everything was inside, which was an added advantage at this location since there are several rooms inside to utilize that add to the romantic, statuesque ambiance that feels like you own your own state home for an evening. On the day of, together with our wedding coordinator (the lovely ladies of Tuscandream, carolina and francesca) they made sure that every single detail was met and I was so incredible impressed! Candles romantically lit up the entrance way and the staff on site doing the coat check and later serving us were so incredible nice and professional. My guests were blown away at how nice it was. We conducted our symbolic ceremony in the room that doubles as a dance floor that comfortably contained all 100 of our guests. As soon as the ceremony ended waiters greeted us with glasses of champagne (which my fiance's dad brought from France) and we were able to toast before heading to my favorite room, the 'luna nera' or black room with a beautifully ornate ceiling. There we enjoyed spritz cocktails and juices and our selection of curated appetizers, made from all seasonal ingredients. Dinner was just amazing, together with Alberto, we chose a fantastic three course dinner with a beautifully made crepe with pecorino cheese, chestnut pasta with truffles and beef filet with a red wine reduction, veggies and potatoes. The only minor slip-up was that they gave a few vegetarians meat dishes even though they knew beforehand, but that was quickly fixed.
