Wanwan Tower is a relatively new tower on the north bank of the Phoenix Lijiang River. It is said to have been built in 1988. It is very close to Wanshou Palace, about ten meters away. 万名塔☆江流婉转，涛声依旧。在逝去的历史岁月中，有多少令人留恋的胜迹，又有多少情爱禅变在时代的空际里销溶，在历史的长河中悄悄流逝。一座青山，一捧沃土，它们永远是这一片土地的守望者，永远是历史的见证人。万名塔的前身就是镇娇塔，又称字纸炉，民国末被拆毁。二十世纪八十年代初，著名画家黄永玉先生感叹故乡许多文物古迹被毁，十分婉惜。他怀着深切感奋的思乡情结，号召乡人自愿筹资捐赠，画家本人不辞劳苦，自己绘画卖画，把全部售画所得之资，投入重修白塔事业。经过画家的不懈努力，共筹资十多万元，于一九八八年重新修起了一座新塔，因修塔之经费都来源于万人百姓捐赠，故取名万名塔。万名塔，位于沱江沙湾北岸，用青砖和混合沙浆以及钢筋水泥砌筑而成。塔高22.98米，六方、七级，每层六个翘角，精美秀丽，悬挂铜制风铃。一层有楹联六副，皆为名人所题，如原县长吴官林题联：“塔静梧高凌空引凤；河清岸曲流水藏蛟”。塔身映入沱江碧波之中，显得格外秀气动人。
