Yanfu Temple Review

Zhejiang's only Yuan Dynasty wooden structure Yanfu Temple Daxiong Pavilion. Rebuilt in Yuan Taiding, a heavy eaves were rebuilt in the Ming Dynasty, and the building was obviously built in the Song Dynasty to create a French-style bucket arch structure. The whole scenic spot is very quiet and simple and chic. The Temple of Heavenly Kings and the Guanyin Hall are leftover buildings in the Qing Dynasty, and the bell pavilion on the side has a copper bell in the Tang Dynasty.

On the way to Wuyi Niutou Mountain, after Yanfu Temple, the navigation guided us to the hillside, passing by Yanfuyuan Hotel, and came to a platform. Along the road, the slope is the well-preserved ancient buildings of Yanfu Temple, and the hillside is the newly restored Yanfu Temple. Meeting an enthusiastic doorman at the gate of the ancient temple, the obligation to explain to us, the short introduction let us understand the changes of the times of Yanfu Temple, deeply feel its position in the history of Chinese architecture. Laoyanfu Temple is not big, but very exquisite, the trees are lush, the courtyard is clean, in the afternoon, there are not many tourists, but you can slowly appreciate and feel, maybe out of protection, there is no open fire in the ancient temple, and to burn incense and pray for blessings, you have to go downhill to the new temple. The restoration of the new temple has been supported by local governments and Hangzhou Lingyin Temple. Therefore, the new temple is complete, but it lacks the original sense of age of the temple. It is a pity that modern building materials have lost the original history and precipitation of the temple. Yanfu Temple, with its status in the ancient temple of Jiangnan, attracts tourists to visit here to pray for blessings.

Yanfu Temple is the earliest Yuan Dynasty building in the south of the Yangtze River. The millennium ancient temple was rebuilt in the Yuan Dynasty in four years (1317), and the use of heavy Xishan Dougong architecture, Liang Sicheng in "Chinese architectural history" called "this hall is a rare orphan case." The construction of Xinyanfu Temple in front of Guyanfu Temple is very stylish, but less quaint and strong taste.
