Yangzhou's west gate, also known as Tongsimen, can be traced back to the later weeks of the ancient five generations. When I came here, I stepped on every brick under my feet and felt full of a heavy sense of historical era. The whole museum is really not very big, a short 10 minutes may be able to walk, but it is really not enough to understand its historical changes within this 10 minutes. 宋大城西门遗址博物馆本不在我们扬州之行的计划里，纯属偶遇。在怡园吃过饭后向西没走远就看到一段老城墙，再向前走发现大门，进入发现是个遗址博物馆，上网查了一下，西门始建于五代，历经了两宋、元、明、清和民国，迄今为止已有一千余年了。犹如北京的明城墙遗址，曾经在古代军防御上有着很重要的作用。地面上的砖是宋代时铺的真正老砖，所以只可远观。地方不大，但历史记忆浓厚。
