YuchanglouBuilt in 1308, Yuchanglou has been the oldest tulou existing in Fujian Province. This 18.2 meter high share the 269 rooms in all of the 5 floors. There are 5 stairways in 5 different sections inside, and 22 water wells in each ground floor kitchens which surpass any other tulous in Fujian for the number. However fragile it may seem, this building has been showing its fastness by resisting the damage a long period of 700 years of time would have delivered, and has survived numerous earthquakes, all of these marvels entitle it to be a living specimen for research of ancient dwelling.
