Yuzhufeng, located 10 kilometers east of Kunlun Pass, 160 kilometers south of Golmud, Qinghai, is the highest peak in Shandong section of Kunlun, the south slope is steep, the south slope glacier end is about 5100 meters above sea level; the north slope glacier extends to 4,400 meters. The top of the mountain is covered by ice and snow all year round, and there is no rock exposure. The ice and snow slope is gentle. The glacier below the grain snow basin, due to the high temperature every year, melting fast, less precipitation, melting is greater than accumulation, is a subsidence continental glacier. The Yuzhu Mountain area is a continental climate, and the rainfall is only 200 mm per year. However, at high altitudes above 5,000 meters above sea level, rainfall is hundreds of millimeters higher than the mountain front due to high-altitude convection. The average annual temperature is minus 5 degrees, and the extreme minimum temperature can reach minus 30 degrees. The climbing season is May to October, and the weather in May is colder and the oxygen content is lower. July, August, September and October are more suitable for climbing.
