Romantic Hotels in Oita Prefecture, Japan

The hygiene was so-so. When I entered, there was a hair on the pillow, which made me seriously doubt if they change the linens after every guest. I went to the front desk, and they changed my room. They said to compensate for my experience, they would offer a free room cleaning for the next day, valued at 1500 yen. Right, they don't clean during your stay unless you pay extra. Service was practically non-existent. Check-in at the front desk was done via self-service machines. The room definitely wasn't the square footage they advertised. If it were around 400-500 [currency, likely yen], I think it would be acceptable, as the location is indeed very good. The private onsen uses fresh water but isn't cleaned. It's not reservation-based either; it's first-come, first-served. Basically, on weekends, you'll only find fewer people after midnight. Otherwise, you'll have to queue at the entrance and wait a considerable amount of time.

We had a pleasant stay at Amanek Beppu. The lobby is bright and welcoming, giving a great first impression. The hotel provides free bottles of water, which was a nice touch and very convenient during my stay. Our room was comfortable and well-kept, making it easy to relax after a long day. Parking is available nearby for a reasonable fee, so it was convenient even for those traveling by car. Overall, Amanek Beppu offers comfort, convenience, and good value. We would happily stay here again.

Very good hotel and have lots of amenities for leisure traveller. I love Onzen at this hotel…they are separated for male and female and very clean. Really recommend for those who want to take a break and relax and getaway from your busy day.

Very nice modern style ryokan nestled in the hills of Beppu. Rooms are very nice and big, with our private onsen bathroom. We opted for the dinner and breakfast, and they were both pretty good and tasty.

There were no English speaking staff, which led to misunderstandings and unpleasant experiences. We hope to provide more written or eng speaking staff to make passengers more great experience

The hotel staff are mostly Korean, and the owner is also Korean. We booked a triple room on the first floor, which was conveniently close to the outdoor onsen. The room itself was spacious and clean. The onsen was also excellent. We visited on a weekday, and it seemed like there were only two groups of guests, including us. It felt like we had the dining area and the onsen all to ourselves. Aside from briefly seeing them at the front desk, we didn't encounter the other guests at any other time. We had booked a package that included dinner. The dinner was a delightful, multi-course Japanese meal (kaiseki-style), where each dish was introduced and served individually, only after the previous one was finished. Upon departure, a complimentary shuttle service to the station was provided. However, getting there upon arrival was a bit tricky; we had to take a taxi (around 1000 JPY) as it involved an uphill walk, and it was quite hot. Walking would have taken 30-40 minutes. The hotel is a convenient 10-15 minute walk from Kinrin Lake and the 'Fairytale Village.' You could easily visit these attractions in the morning, return, and then check out before departing. If you need to do laundry, there's a coin-operated laundromat a 7-8 minute walk away (as shown in Pic 4). For those who prefer to buy their own breakfast, a convenience store is a 10-minute walk, conveniently located on the way to Kinrin Lake.

The advantage is that it is located close to tourist facilities, so I made a reservation, but when I actually saw the entrance of the accommodation, it was so pretty that I took a picture first and then checked in. The staff were so kind that they explained everything in detail and also introduced me to nearby restaurants and convenient facilities ^^ After the explanation, I went to the room and it was really clean and spacious. And when I checked the private room, it was spacious and clean. You can adjust the temperature to your desired temperature. When I checked the bathroom and toilet, I saw that the hair dryer was Dyson. Since Japan is 110 volts, the wind speed is weak, but it was great to use the Dyson. And there was a small beverage facility next to the check-in area, so they provided unlimited beer and drinks. I had a really comfortable time. Next time I visit Beppu, I will definitely visit here.

We stayed in a room on the first floor with a 10-tatami mat open-air bath and a small garden. There was also an indoor cypress bath, and we enjoyed a truly luxurious and relaxing time. There were a total of four outdoor baths to enjoy, starting at midnight, and you could hear the quiet murmuring of a stream in the semi-open-air grounds. It's a very atmospheric place perfect for adults to enjoy. The meals, both in the evening and in the morning, were extensive and elaborate, and both the taste and appearance were enjoyable, so delicious that we ended up overeating. Both the front desk staff and the young Nakai who was with our room were polite and calm, and both were very nice. My wife seemed to enjoy chatting with Nakai, and I was glad we chose this inn. It's a place I'd definitely like to visit again.

The hotel is beautiful, the room has a hot spring, in addition you can book another hot spring for family use. It is recommended to stay two days to enjoy the hotel itself. Breakfast included, was service, lots of food, the whole table, staff super nice. It is a bit troublesome to get in and out of the hotel, to call a taxi, around 1000yen, several people share is ok. if you wanna bike there, it is almost impossible because there are some hills in between the hotel and the town. The only drawback is that the hotel has no shuttle service and is a little expensive. But the environment is beautiful, clean, good service.

The hotel is a group of small villas. Although it is in the city, there are rice fields in front of the door. There is a private hot spring and sauna room downstairs, indoors and outdoors. Upstairs is a double bed and two tatami beds. The tatami beds need to be made by yourself, and someone will put them away in the morning. The cleaning time is 11:00-15:00. According to the front desk, it takes several people to prepare for such a long time, so the hygiene is very good, and all bedding is changed every day. The only drawback is that the hotel does not provide meals and does not have a washing and drying machine. There is a microwave in the room, so it is convenient to buy food in advance and heat it up. To wash clothes, you need to go to coin laundry 200 meters away. It is a great hotel and I will go there again if I have the chance. The front desk is very good. I ask them to help call a car and book a restaurant every day.
