Exceeded expectations in every aspect. Second time and we had 4 nights of fabulous stay in a seaview (corner) room on 20th floor. Room was spacious and comfy, so much so that I just wanted to stay in 😄 Location is good, easy access to Gaya Street, Signal Hill, Todak Waterfront, Suria Sabah Mall and all the good food nearby. Hotel staff were friendly and professional and speaks multiple languages. Feedback and requests were promptly attended to. Kudos! Definitely my choice of hotel when in KK!

Facilities: All amenities are available.
Cleanliness: Spotless and tidy.
Environment: Prime downtown location, with a street full of massage parlors downstairs. The bar street is a 5-minute walk, and Gaya Street is 15 minutes away.
Service: Warm and friendly.
My only complaint is the excessive noise! The sea view from the room is breathtaking, but the noise from the bar street across the way goes on until after 2 AM!

The biggest issue is that for a beachfront resort, its beach is practically nonexistent – though it doesn't really hinder the fun! I booked a sea-view room for three nights, expecting to step right out to the ocean. However, Magellan (hotel) seems to have a dock, so the 'beach' is all rocks. There's only about a 10-meter wide 'sandy' area, suitable for snorkeling. The underwater rocky reefs here make for pretty good snorkeling. The adjacent Pacific Sutera beach, which shares facilities, is a bit longer, but the waves are bigger there, so the snorkeling isn't as good as here. Both hotels share four pools, which is great for swimming, but it feels a bit odd to go to a beach resort and only swim in the pool. I didn't find any other major deal-breakers; overall, the experience was good. The service wasn't bad, and while the facilities aren't new, they're not run-down either. Breakfast was decent, with all the usual offerings. There are indeed a lot of Koreans here, even more than I encountered in Jeju Island previously. I guess this hotel is a social media hotspot in Korea!

The hotel is really nice. The sea-view room was excellent; falling asleep to the sound of the waves at night was wonderful. The service is great, and breakfast is good too. I highly recommend the freshly baked waffles with honey. You should definitely set aside more time to enjoy the hotel facilities.

Everything was fine. Service, location. Easy access. Free parking. Beautiful sight of room. Except I do feel the size of beds seem smaller than other hotel.
Location is nice. Easy to walk around other places. Near KK plaza & walking distance to waterfront & centrepoint sabah. But do smell market at the parking lot.
Swimming pool cgood. Got both for adult and kids. I do wish more table & seats provided outside of changing room.
Breakfast was worth it. For kids & adults. I would suggest if you could add hot chocolate for drinks as well.
Personally I would like to stay at this hotel next time.

Near to a mall. Easy to check in and check out.
Comfortable and good quality bed and pillows.
Very helpful customer service.
Strategic location, near to mall, eateries and shops.
Compact space with large bathrooms.
No designated parking space. Public parking depends on luck. Parking might cost you.
Overall is a good experience, comfortable stay and hassle free.

Pros:
The location is very strategic as the residence is situated in the heart of Kota Kinabalu. It offers a nice city view and overlooks the airport runway, where you can watch flights take off and land. The swimming pool is shared with Ming Garden Hotel, which is convenient.
Cons:
The room was extremely dusty, and my husband had to sweep it himself. Dust on the furniture was visible to the naked eye and there was even hair on the floor. The paint on the wall was peeling, leaving the floor dirty. The whole floor felt a bit creepy and gave the impression of an old, poorly maintained building. A security deposit of RM200 is required and the refund took two days after check-out. Communication with the manager is only through WhatsApp, which sometimes results in delayed responses. Parking is not complimentary, and guests need to pay for it (RM4/entry, RM8 for overnight).
This hotel is located in the suburbs and offers a shuttle bus service to the airport twice a day (morning and evening), which needs to be booked in advance. There's also a shuttle at 1 PM to Times Square and a shopping plaza, also requiring prior booking as same-day reservations might not be available. It's perfectly adequate for a family vacation, offering various paid activities, including a firefly watching tour at the Meng River mangrove forest. While there weren't many fireflies, it was still enough to entertain the kids, and its proximity to the hotel was a plus. The hotel's beach is uncrowded. The sunset views here are far superior to those at the Shangri-La in the city. The staff are very enthusiastic. All facilities here outperform the city's Shangri-La. On the first day of the Chinese New Year, there was a lion dance for guests to take photos with. Management came around to hand out red envelopes to children, creating a wonderful atmosphere. All in all, for a family vacation, I would still choose this hotel in the outer suburbs.
