Friendly staff, as usual in Indonesia. The hotel has also a nice location right at the sea. However it is an old and poorly maintained facility. Carpets are dirty, curtains have holes, paint is peeling off from walls, furniture is old and worn.
Good location near toll and mall. Double pane glass on the southside of the building would help reduce the sound of the thousands of cars and motorcycles going down the main street in front of the hotel and help reduce cooling costs. Staff is very helpful and professional. Recommended!
Good hotel very friendly staff. Breakfast was limited not a good choice for European travellers. Also the hose on the Bum Gun in the toilet was very short and rigid which meant cleaning oneself was very awkward 😁
All in all not what we expected. Lobby and room looked nice, but bedsheets were dirty, bugs in the bathroom and the breakfast was poor. Not recommended for that standard.
Staying at Hotel Golden Tulip Essential Makassar with my family was a pleasant experience. The room was clean and spacious enough for all of us. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The hotel’s location is strategic, close to restaurants and the city center. A great choice for a family vacation.
The room was outdated, yellow lighting, no window makes it feel a bit shady. The price was cheap I know, but some cheaper hotels have a better room.
Breakfast was a bit underwhelming, the saving grace are the gym and the location, that's all
I arrived at 2 PM and requested a non-smoking room, but despite having specified this in my app booking, I was told to wait 30 minutes. After 40 minutes, the room still wasn't ready, and my patience was wearing thin. I was then reluctantly moved to a different room. Once inside, I discovered it was a connected room and completely lacked soundproofing, allowing me to hear my neighbors clearly from both sides. I considered complaining, but I was too exhausted. On a positive note, the view and the location, particularly with its proximity to CPI, were excellent.

MMukhlasinI stayed one night at Cordia Hotel Makassar for a quick transit before continuing my trip to Gorontalo, and it was a very convenient choice.
The location is perfect—right at Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport—so I didn’t have to worry about traffic or rushing for my next flight. Check-in was smooth, and the staff were polite and efficient, which made the short stay hassle-free.
The room was compact but comfortable, with all the essentials for a transit stop: air-conditioning, TV, Wi-Fi, and a clean bed. It’s not a large space, but for one night it worked just fine.
The bathroom was clean, though a bit basic. The shower had good water pressure, and amenities like towels and toiletries were provided.
Overall, the hotel has a practical and modern vibe, designed for travelers who need a simple, clean, and easy place to rest between flights.
For a transit stay, Cordia Hotel Makassar is definitely reliable and convenient. I’d recommend it to anyone needing a comfortable stopover near the airport.
GGuest UserThe hotel is suitable for a business trip because it provides a comfortable and practical stay for work-related travel. The room is clean and quiet, making it easy to rest after a long day of meetings. The Wi-Fi connection is stable enough for online work, emails, and video calls. The location is also convenient, especially if the hotel is close to offices, meeting places, restaurants, or public transportation.
The facilities are simple but helpful for business travelers, such as a work desk, good lighting, parking area, and 24-hour front desk service. The check-in and check-out process is also quite efficient, which is important for guests with a tight schedule.
Overall, this hotel is a good choice for a short business trip. It offers comfort, convenience, and basic facilities needed for work travel. However, if the guest needs a larger workspace or meeting room, it is better to confirm the hotel facilities before booking.
AAnonymous UserBudget hotel, with two very good seafood restaurants nearby, a little far from the airport, need to book a car in advance. Not far from the beach.
GGuest UserThe staff is very attentive and helpful. The room was spacious for the money we spent, compared to most other hotels we stayed over the past months in Indonesia. The locker room for left luggage is professional and safely behind a locked door. Breakfast has a huge variety. Highly recommend!

JJames MKNovotel is a great pick for a stay in Makassar. Good location get around town.
Rooms are nice, clean, and functional. Gym is small, and probably needs a few upgrades. There is a pool, but not used.
Restaurant is so-so, to be fair. Outside eating options are probably better.
Very friendly and efficient staff - they quickly addressed a minor issue and followed up with excellent attention.
Still, overall, a very good place to choose, and good value for money,

YYangmanmanThe room was great, very clean, and spacious. The staff provided excellent service too. It was easy to get a taxi right outside the hotel, and we could even order food to our room. The only downside was that the rooftop pool closed too early. I'll definitely book here again for my next business trip.
