Lovely place in the middle of a rugged land, so isolated yet offers everything first class. An excellent place to chase auroras. Staff were very professional. The room offered a generous space, breakfast was excellent.

Me and my wife went for the 1 hour horseback ride and spent one night at the hotel. It was a wonderful 1 day stay, the hotel is nice and the staff is very helpful and nice. We are beginners when it comes to riding but this was well suited for us. Not too much action but lot of fun. Horses were very calm. The horse houses are just few steps away from the hotel so you get that farm side feeling. The hotel also has a hot tub which is nice to visit after the riding. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel and the food was good, specially the breakfast. Overall, I will recommend. thanks.
Hotel Grimsborgir by Keahotels
4.3/553 Reviews
Overall we loved our stay at Grimsborgir, but I would like to begin by mentioning a few aspects that can be improved. When we arrived the room seemed dusty, as if not used by other guests for a long time and then not freshened up before we arrived. This improved after the first night. The cleaning staff also made a few mistakes like taking towels without replacing them and forgetting items like wiping cloths or cleaning sprays in random places - this happened on 3 out of 6 days. Also the design of the double bed was a bit minimalistic - it did not have a headboard - compared to other double beds from less expensive rooms in your hotel this is a mild disappointment. Overall we were very happy with our stay in your hotel - we had everything we needed and we would gladly stay with you again. I just have one question which I would be very grateful if you could answer me. What kind of mattress did the double bed have? We found it to be extremely pleasant to sleep on and I would like to buy one if you could tell me where from. Thank you for your hospitality and looking forward to staying with you again in the future.
Hotel South Coast

Absolutely amazing our stay at this hotel. After 2 rough nights in others hotels this was a cherry on the top. It was my husband and I anniversary so we decided to booked this hotel to chill and enjoy our time. Staff were nice at the lobby, hotel comes with free parking, lobby was very nice and stylish, room were spacious and super modern, free buffet style breakfast A+++ and for 30 dollars extra you could use the sauna, steam and massage facility. Hotel its in downtown selfoss so everything was nearby and it's such a cute little town. I definitely recommend this hotel worth the extra money.
Hörgsland Guesthouse

We were a family of 8 - three adults stayed in one cabin and the family of 5 (with 3 children 10-15 years), in another. The cabins were convenient because they had enough sleeping areas for everyone and had kitchens so we didn't have to eat out for every meal. Food in Iceland is extremely expensive!! Things that could be improved - reception/office hours weren't convenient given that the guesthouse is a bit of a distance from the important tourist sites in the area so we tended to leave before the office was open or return after it had closed. One cabin had an issue with the faucet in the shower not being clearly marked and thus it was challenging to get anything other than scalding water - but it wasn't until nearly the last day that we were able to get to the office to ask for help. The curtains are symbolic at best - during the summer you'll need eye masks since it never gets dark. One of the cabins had a mirror in the 'living room' which was very convenient so we didn't all need to use the bathroom mirror when trying to get ready for the day. It would be great if this was standard in all the cabins. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this guesthouse to others.
Hótel Kría

Nice hotel property in beautiful little Vik. A very welcoming and pleasant staff greeted us. We chatted with the check in person plus bartender and both were easy to talk to and shared their experience of living in Iceland. The room was reasonably priced, comfortable and just right for our one night in town. The restaurant is situated so diners have a nice Mountain and church view, plus the food was very good. Breakfast buffet was way above average and included in the price. Our only regret was our lack of time we could spend in Vik, so many places, so little time.
Hotel Katla by Keahotels
4.3/5136 Reviews
Hotel Katla is located a few miles outside Vik. There is a central building that houses the restaurant and a number of separate buildings with guest rooms. There is an outside hot tub and a small lake. The rooms are good quality and spacious. The breakfast room is large and the breakfast was fine although we often had wait for items that had run out to be topped up. There is plenty of parking on site.
Inni - Boutique Apartments
4.7/514 Reviews
I wish I could just move in to this apartment! It’s beautifully appointed, very clean and comfortable and totally worth what you pay for it. I loved every minute of my stay here and wished I could have been here longer. Hveragerði is an amazing place, with steam billowing out of the surrounding hillsides and along the river bank. There are stunning walks within easy reach of the apartment and they provide a handy map that’s all you need to find your way around.
Lambastadir Guesthouse
4.4/565 Reviews
Very clean, self-check-in (the key with the name is in the data bag at the front desk), there is a shoe rack at the door, shoes can not be worn in, so remember to bring slippers. The shower has a door but there is no glue strip below so the water will flow out. The breakfast quality is very good. Overall will recommend to friends.
Midgard Base Camp
4.6/546 Reviews
I stayed at Midgard Base Camp for two nights. The staff were so friendly from the moment I arrived which helped a lot as this was my first solo trip ever. They answered all my questions always with a smile. The common areas were cosy and beautiful, the hot pool was lovely and with fantastic views, my room overlooked the horse fields which was a bonus. They have a kitchen where you could live food in the fridge and cook and also a bar and restaurant with great food. It does have a feel of a family run business and they make you feel like they care about their guests. I didn’t go on any tours but they had a good choice of them. It was very easy to get to amazing places with the car and the bus stop is minutes away as well as a supermarket and an ice cream shop.
