SSiukwangI highly recommend this hotel for those seeking a quiet hot spring experience away from crowds. It is located a bit remotely from the city and surrounded by nature, which I absolutely love! Driving here is quite accessible. Since I planned to stay for more than one day, they provided a free pickup from the Kotohira JR Station, which is also very convenient. All the staff members are friendly and helpful. This low-density hotel has around 26 rooms, so it sells out very quickly, especially during peak season. There is a small gift shop, but I found everything I needed there. The room met my expectations, offering enough space with an outdoor deck and a private hot spring tub. I could hop into the hot spring tub anytime. If in the summer, I would be sitting on the outdoor deck to take in the views of the woods and nature, listening to the birds sing. The lotion provided is of very good quality; I use it every time I finish in the hot spring, as it smooths my skin. I should check if the gift shop sells it. The minibar is well-stocked with coffee and tea, and a 2-liter bottle of water was provided, along with a filtered water tap in the washroom. The public hot spring is spacious, allowing for plenty of privacy. One thing I wasn't sure about was that they provided us with a twin bed room. Since I was there with my husband, we expected a double bed room. We didn’t check with them about it because we decided to use the futon bed instead, which was surprisingly comfortable. I ended up sleeping even deeper than on a regular bed.  We were also confused about the futon bed setup requiring an extra charge, guess it was considered an extra bed. However, they arranged it for us without charging extra, which we really appreciated!  The dining experience was fantastic as well. There are different sessions in the restaurant, and they assign different tables for each meal, making it feel like dining in various restaurants. The service was very professional, with the staff explaining each dish to us. Even though one server covered two tables, I felt like they were serving us privately and gave us enough personal time. The restaurant closes after breakfast and before dinner, which gives you a great opportunity to explore the area during lunchtime. There are also delicious udon restaurants nearby. Just a heads up, though—I didn’t notice any room service available, so if you want snacks in your room, it’s a good idea to prepare your own. I am looking forward to staying in their other branches!

MMengAlthough the hotel is a bit old, it is basically well maintained, the service is very good, and the sunset is intoxicating. It is recommended to include the buffet dinner, which has rich food and tastes very good. The room was medium, but the bathroom was a bit small. You can go to the public bath to soak in hot springs.

YYiweiyihang0115We booked this hotel for island hopping in the Seto Inland Sea. It's a bit of a walk from Takamatsu Port, but we walked there and back. It was fine when we arrived in the evening, but the sun was really intense and hot when we checked out in the morning. It was quite expensive because it coincided with a holiday; usually, it would be under 1,000 yen, but the price doubled during this period. The hot spring bath was excellent, the late-night ramen was fantastic, and breakfast was good too. I'd definitely consider staying here again if I return to Takamatsu. Facilities: Has a hot spring, breakfast, and late-night ramen. Cleanliness: Good. Environment: Near Central Park.

AAnonymous UserThis 400-year-old onsen ryokan is a bit of a mixed bag. The location is definitely superb, and all drinks in the mini-bar are complimentary. Taking the path behind the ryokan to Konpira-san offers a unique and scenic experience, and the complimentary hiking poles at the entrance are a nice touch. However, I have to complain about the room facilities. The curtains were too sheer, making the entire room very bright in the morning. It seemed like they should have been blackout curtains, but they were faulty and couldn't be pulled down. After a long journey, I was hoping to get some good rest, but the bright curtains made it impossible – instead of waking up with the roosters, I woke up with the light! The food portions were very small, and there wasn't much variety. People with a big appetite would definitely not be full, and even those with a smaller appetite might struggle. Personally, I felt the freshness of the food was a bit lacking, and the kitchen's exhaust system was poor, as I could smell cooking fumes in the room.

GGuest UserThe hotel is located a bit far from the city center, but the staff were friendly and the breakfast was delicious. The bed was firm and the pillows were comfortable. The water is tap water (you get it from the sink), so if you find it inconvenient, I recommend buying it at a mart or convenience store like me. The public bath is smaller than I thought, but the water was cleanly managed. There is a Halows mart nearby, and you can rent a bike for free for 2 hours. There is a basket in the front of the bike, and if you buy a lot of water like me, you can put it on the back seat, but there is no strap to secure it. I went with a backpack, so I put 3 2L bottles of water in the front basket and brought the rest of the items in my bag.

11360177****I was surprised by how small the room was for a hot spring ryokan. With two suitcases, there was barely any room to walk. There was no Wi-Fi signal in the room, and the explanation given was that too many guests were using it simultaneously that night. Wi-Fi was only available in the hallway and lobby. Although the staff tried hard to resolve the issue, there was no solution, so we had to use our own mobile data (as an apology, they gave us a small souvenir when we checked out). Additionally, the 'one night, two meals' package... At over ¥2200, it was ¥1200 more expensive than just the room, but both dinner and breakfast were very mediocre. Compared to a hot spring ryokan I stayed at previously on Shodoshima (which wasn't great either, but at least the food was refined), the meals here were far inferior. There were only three small slices of sashimi, and there were even fish scales on the fish. For ¥1200, two people could have had many better dining options outside. The hot spring was decent, but nothing particularly impressive.

Amenity is only a toothbrush set and the other is taken next to the front desk. The tea pack has only tea, but I was grateful that I could bring coffee back with a cup after breakfast. TtongwillThe key to check in is the QR code, and check out is also scanned. The room is very large. In addition to the kitchen and laundry room, the washing and drying are integrated. Breakfast is relatively simple, but the French sticks and salami and ham cheese are very delicious and the meal is very healthy. There is a mixed bathing pool for men and women, and you must wear a swimsuit. After staying for four days, the room was cleaned, and the whole process was basically self-service.
