Thank you for providing the comfortable hot springs and clean accommodations, allowing us to relax and unwind during our trip. However, our service during this stay fell short of expectations, and we would like to offer some sincere feedback as a reference for your pursuit of excellence.
First, it must be acknowledged that the hotel's facilities are indeed commendable. The excellent quality of the hot springs, and the consistently clean and tidy public areas and guest rooms, demonstrate a five-star hotel's commitment to basic quality, which is impressive.
However, the core of a true five-star experience lies in the service provided by the ”people,” and this is precisely what we found most regrettable. From the moment we arrived at the hotel, we experienced an unexpected ”self-service” atmosphere. We were carrying a lot of ski equipment, making movement quite difficult, yet no porter offered to help us unload our luggage or provide guidance. We had to carry our heavy ski equipment and luggage piece by piece from the vehicle to the luggage cart ourselves; the chaotic process contrasted sharply with the attentive and welcoming service we had expected.
After check-in, several attempts to contact the front desk for inquiries were unsuccessful as the phone remained unanswered for extended periods. This communication breakdown inevitably caused anxiety and helplessness at crucial moments. Furthermore, occasional obstacles were encountered in communicating with staff in English, leading to unnecessary misunderstandings. The most obvious example was a notification letter we received regarding upcoming maintenance work in our room; the English version contained significant translation errors regarding the dates of the work, causing initial confusion. These details reflect room for improvement in the hotel's international service standards.
Additionally, adding hot and cold water dispensers to the common area, particularly in the coffee corner, would be beneficial.
The hotel's location is pretty good, though it's a shame there's no shuttle bus. It's about an 8-minute walk, but it can be a bit tricky when it snows.
The facilities are decent and have everything you'd expect.
The food is good, but the menu was exactly the same every day we stayed for three days and two nights. It would be a pleasant surprise if the hotel could change up the menu.
They offer rental equipment, which is very convenient. It's also quite family-friendly. You can tell they put effort into making it a good hotel.
Hotel was generally clean except for the front area where shoes need to be removed.. the floor mat was wet but it wasnt changed, so its kindaof gross.
Amenities are not great either. No lotion, no facial products, only basic toiletries and toothbrush provided. No kids yukata provided too for my child.
Food was very average - both breakfast and dinner. No variety, everyday its a type of shabu - 1 day pork & beef, 1 day beef, 1 day fish. My kid got very bored of the food.
Bed was comfy. Pillows were crap and only 1 pillow each.. View was quite nice, could see e neighbouring mountains.
Location is very good, 5 to 10mins walk from e echigo yuzawa train station. There are quite alot of food at the train station.
While this is supposedly a ryokan, its just another dormy inn. Dont expect too much - considered decent.
The location is excellent, 3 minutes walk from Niigata Station, there is a convenience store downstairs, and there are many restaurants and food around.
The room is spacious, comfortable, bright and clean! Highly recommended
I stayed here with my family for a ski trip. We had a great time in one room with six people from three generations of parents and children, and we were very satisfied.
We took baths both at night and in the morning, and because the steam from the baths didn't obscure the view, foreigners who are uncomfortable being naked probably wouldn't feel embarrassed.
The food was well-balanced and delicious. There wasn't a large selection, but everything was delicious.
I'd like to stay here again.
I've not ever stayed Dormy Inn and this was the first time. It was very nice and impressive. Good onsen and clean facilities. I will try to find Dormy Inn chain near the places I plan to trip to. Thank you so much for the nice services the hotel provided.
In the old resort hotel, the waiter has a kind of old-fashioned and honest devotion. In order to book dinner, he called me five or six times to arrange and confirm. Because the hotel is halfway up the mountain, every meal I ate at the hotel. I ate French, shabushabu and Italian, and the standard was good. Hotel hot spring is the best hot spring in Japan in recent years. Akakura Sightseeing Snow Resort also feels more ancient and wild, and has a unique flavor.
It's in a great location for skiing, the rooms are spacious, and the food is plentiful and delicious.
However, it is a bit disappointing that meal time is limited.
Staff service is very good, very professional.
Ski rentals are available at the hotel, which is cheaper than ski resorts and other ski resorts.
Ski tickets at the hotel are also available at discounts.
There is also a special car transfer, when you see everyone waiting for the bus in a long queue, your special car is already waiting for you at the door, when it snows, feel warm.
It is only a 5-minute walk to Yuehou Tangyu Station and 7-11.
The room is comfortable, the soup has a large bath and the open air. Breakfast buffet, staff service is very good. The boss is very kind. You can buy tickets and rent props at the nearby ski resort at the hotel, which is cheaper than the ski resort. Overall the stay experience is very good.

GGuest UserThe hotel is located a few hundred meters up the slope to the right after exiting Echigo-Yuzawa Station's west gate. I was immediately struck by the university upon leaving the station. Although the road was a bit slippery, I arrived at the hotel and checked in without a hitch. The breakfast was plentiful, and there are two free public hot springs and a private one (reservations required). Soaking in the hot springs after skiing was absolutely wonderful.
GGuest UserThe lady at the counter was so accommodating. Provided everything we needed and was happy to help in any other way. Spoke a little English but used google translate to help. We couldn't use the dining room for dinner, I think that had to be booked in advance. There was only one or two other places open in town at 7.30pm for dinner. So wasn't many options. The room had stains all over the floor, but otherwise the beds were clean, and comfortable being on the harder springy side, and the bathroom was very clean. The onsen was amazing. The room was a good size, and had extra toilets down the hall if we needed them. The Japanese breakfast that was provided was fantastic. We only stayed one night because we were walking the next day just near there otherwise would have stayed in a bigger town, because of the limited outside facilities. But for the price and it was convenient it was good. Would stay again if I had to, but otherwise would go for a bit nicer place.

Iizujlmdria008The place is very close to Gala Yuzawa station around 8mins walk. The place is great with attentive staff. There is an available shuttle service where you can call the hotel to fetch you. Downside is that there is no available restaurants nearby so you have to go to Echigo Yuzawa. You can avail the shuttle service. Would have been great if there’s supplementary breakfast. There’s a 300yen fee for bath.

IiamstellanOne of the newest boutique style hotels in Sado Island. Centrally located, just 20 minutes from the Ryotsu port. Great amenities and it has a hotspring with fancy hair dryers and hair oils. Roof terrace where you can see so many stars.
