On the surface thus place looks perfect, facing the Indian ocean, with superb sunset daily, and trains passing by, make for perfect IG moments. The room (the ones facing the ocean) seem like a tropical dream come true. I want you to pause for a moment, and ponder these facts: 4 lifts, but all are so slow, going up and down takes a lkng wait, any time of the day. Key card that malfunction at least twice on 2 separate days, using the slow lift to go up and down, took me 10 to 10 minutes. Room safe in my room is kaput, I had to call the staff to open the safe fof me, even they couldn't fix it in the end. Breakfast spread is impressive, but set up is chaotic, seating is tight. Room windows is not sound proof, noise from the ocean and the train all night long. It's not near anything, must use uber to go anywhere The charm of the hotel wore off pretty quickly, by 2nd night, I regretted my decision. So, I recommend staying here only for a night or two, to take nice photos of the rolm, the rooftop bar, infinity pool, that's it. There are better options elsewhere.

A well kept hotel attached to a modern shopping mall, small general supermarket a short walk away. Breakfast has a great range the egg hoppers are a must try. Good location Uber taxi and tuk tuk rides are readily available and inexpensive. Breakfast on the veranda watching the wav s of the Indian Ocean and the railroad trains is great fun.

First of all, the breakfast was very good. There were all kinds of local food that I have never seen before. Secondly, the male checkin receptionist wearing glasses was very friendly! He tried to introduce many local spots and helped handle the noise issue caused by the people next to my room. However, the female receptionist was not really helpful and quite stubborn. That male staff said I could enjoy an extended checkout due to my midnight flight during checkin, but the female receptionist said no to me later. After I explained what that male staff promised to me, she only gave me a two-hour extended checkout. The point is what all the staff say to guests should be consistent.

My stay at the Galle Face Hotel in Colombo was truly memorable. From the moment I walked in, I felt surrounded by history and elegance. The colonial charm, ocean views, and timeless architecture created a unique atmosphere that few hotels can match. My room was comfortable, beautifully furnished, and opened to the sea breeze—perfect for relaxing after exploring the city. The service was warm and attentive without being intrusive, and breakfast on the terrace overlooking the Indian Ocean was unforgettable. Watching the sunset by the pool with a drink in hand was the perfect end to each day. A classic, graceful stay.

This was my second stay at Cinnamon Grand. My first experience was excellent. This time, I checked in late, and since the rooms in the usual section were full, I was assigned a room on the other side. The facilities there felt noticeably older, the hairdryer was broken, and the bathroom was smaller than in the other section. Furthermore, the cleanliness was poor – there were clumps of hair and a dead cockroach, and no slippers were provided. It felt like the two sections of the hotel had different standards for room upkeep. Since it was late when I checked in and I was only staying for two nights, I decided not to ask the hotel to change my room. If you're staying here, I recommend choosing a room accessed via the front desk entrance, rather than the one next to the pastry shop. I hope the hotel can improve the standards of these rooms. The staff were very friendly and helpful. During check-in, there was a system issue, and I was initially assigned two double rooms. The staff member then had to check four different rooms to find a correct single room for me. I really appreciate their effort. The hotel is a 15-minute walk from the beach. However, it's quite a distance from the artificial harbor and the shopping mall, so it's best to take a tuk-tuk.

WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL. Despite a very good start which involved a very helpful early check-in for our group of four travelers (two rooms) and lots of friendly smiles from the hotel reception team, unfortunately our stay took a bit of a negative turn owing to some confusion over two additional bookings we had made to extend our stay following a change in our plans. I really find it hard to understand why this simple process caused confusion to the duty manager. The following day, despite clearly explaining that we had made additional bookings to extend our stay, the desk staff were confused and claimed that one of the room bookings was not confirmed. The duty manager was dismissive to us and actually ignored us, (even though he had perfectly good English to communicate with us), preferring to speak through another member of the reception team who was standing right next to him. After a wait of at least 15 minutes, I told him that we were not prepared to wait any longer and that he could let us know once the issue had been resolved. This was clearly an administrative problem between the hotel and Trip.com which soured our stay. The duty manager was unprofessional and discourteous towards his guests. Our experience left us unwilling to use any of the hotel facilities other than the breakfast buffet. The breakfast buffet was very good and the staff team exceptional in their service and friendliness. We did use the lounge bar on one occasion and again, found the staff to be friendly and helpful - special mention to Jerushan, with whom we enjoyed a great conversation. He is a credit to the staff team. Perhaps given his people skills, he should be made a manager?! Other than the reception area, the hotel is very tired and in desperate need of an upgrade. In our room, a light switch cover fell off, some bulbs were not working and the room was dirty - a build up of dust in the corners and on the wardrobe louvres which quite obviously suggested the rooms were only being given a superficial clean. As said, we do not recommend this hotel and we will not stay here again. We expect far from a Ramada branded establishment.

I recently stayed at this hotel and had a wonderful experience. The rooms were clean, tidy, and well-maintained, making it worth every penny. The staff were extremely helpful and went out of their way to ensure a comfortable stay. The breakfast offered a great variety of options, catering to different tastes and dietary preferences. From fresh fruits to hot dishes, everything was delicious and well-prepared. The overall ambiance of the hotel was pleasant, and the amenities were top-notch. I highly recommend this hotel for both business and leisure travelers. It’s a great value for the money, and I would definitely stay here again!

Jetwing Beach is lovely hotel. Right on the beach, good spacious rooms, with everything you need, very clean and good AC. Rooms over look the pool and beach which is nice to wake up to every morning. The staff are a credit to the hotel with fantastic service from house keeping to reception to pool attendants. Could not fault it. Food and Drinks are excellent too, try the Terrace Bar for cocktails you won’t be disappointed. Food is good value at the Beach / Pool Bar too Would definitely recommend this hotel if your coming to Negombo

Visited Colombo during off-peak season so we managed to visit the city with less crowd. Views from any sea-facing room is incredible for its price - slight blocking with 2 towers in front but you can get a better unblocked view if you go for Premium tier rooms. I have to commend reception staff Anjala, who managed upsell me a Premium Seaview Room from a Superior Seaview Room. He took the time to explain the differences between each tier, accommodated to my budget constraints, and brought me to each room (empty ones of course) for a viewing before committing to an upgrade. After hearing that I was there on honeymoon (my husband would only arrive later), he relayed that to the rest of the team who took care of us wonderfully throughout our 4-day stay. Overall, room is clean and roomy, perfect for business calls with fast and reliable in-room wifi. Only downside is their TV doesn't have Netflix or Airplay, only Miracast for Android/Windows users. Tip for travellers: tell your driver this used to be Movenpick hotel - they will know where to drop you off.

GGuest UserThis hotel is in Wattala which is only 7km from the Fort train station but feels ages away. Service - excellent. As in all areas of Sri Lanka the staff are very friendly and helpful. All say hello and genuinely seem to enjoy their jobs. There seems to be an army of cleaners and wait staff and again, all are friendly with very good English. The doorman was my favourite with a massive smile and great personality! There were some issues with the half-board deal I was on regarding when and where you can have the half board - which is only breakfast and dinner although on Trip it reads like you have a choice of when you can have your two meals a day. So just clarify when you arrive to be sure. Facilities - big open ground, big swimming pool which you could do laps in if you wanted but also with decent steps on the side so younger children can play. There is also a small children's pool too which is adjacent to the big pool and next to the sun bathing area which has around 10 sun chairs in pairs with an umbrella and small table around the grass area, with more chairs and beanbags set up on the higher area. I have seen big groups playing team games, cricket, football, some weird waterpolo/volleyball/handball game in the pool and even a few keen cricket players today. Restaurant - the floor level open air restaurant is well staffed, nicely proportioned and the buffet breakfast, lunch or dinner is extensive (if a little repetitive after three days). On some occasions there was live music which was nice and not overpowering, playing mainly English music. Bar - The Fishery is the outdoor restaurant for al e carte food service and some drinks. You can choose to sit under the roof bar area or under trees next to it, on big picnic style seating. Gym - this is located next to the pool/restaurant and although it is a bit tired, it has everything you need. The running machines are a bit clunky but at least they work, the weight machines are a little stiff to move but again they are functional. There are free weights and area to work out - even a small space for yoga or stretching if thats your thing. There is also air conditioning - and in 30+ heat, very much needed! Downside - its a bit hard to get to and you have to take a taxi or tuk tuk (don't pay anything over 5,000 for this!). The beach which you can see and hear, is very close but not suitable for swimming - especially for young children. Also the beach isn't particularly clean - outside the hotel the beach is raked for appearances, but walk 50m to your left or right, and its not too pretty! Not really a downside but be aware that if you are here in weekend, this place seems to host a lot of parties, weddings and events - which is great energy with lots of noise and atmosphere. It is a lot quieter in the week days. And the pool becomes full in the afternoons!!!

CCJ12A beautiful building in a very pleasant area of Colombo; the architecture and interior design of the hotel are a joy to behold and the vast majority of staff are polite and courteous. Plenty of amenities nearby to suit all tastes and interests. The breakfasts were great both mornings (both the Sri Lankan breakfast and the Western style), and they really lived up to the high expectations we’d had from the Instagram marketing we’d seen. We were upgraded to the North West Suite, which was a larger room, for which we were greatly appreciative; a couple of issues with working plugs and appliances (coffee machine and hair dryer) were reported and rectified, although the wiring/plugs more broadly were temperamental and poorly placed (as expected, possibly, with the charm of an older hotel). However, the bed was comfortable, the hotel was quiet, and the bathroom was well appointed. Our only qualm was with the overzealous Head of Housekeeping, who seemed to not grasp the subtlety required for such a role, or the privacy with which guests might like to enjoy the beautiful hotel. It appeared that he lingered all too often in search of a tip, and didn’t quite appreciate the boundaries one might desire when paying a reasonable fee for each night. My wife and I took to speedily locking the door and placing the ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign on the handle to keep his incessant interrupting to a minimum. His deputy was, however, an asset to the hotel, who seemed to comprehend the subtle art of providing high quality service for a luxury stay in a lovely hotel. All-in-all, a great choice for a hotel in the heart of Colombo, and hopefully, during a busier season, the aforementioned Head of Housekeeping might spread his overbearing attention across the many rooms of the hotel.
