The service was splendid, the receptionist was so gentle and understanding. Their restaurant service is top tier. I won't mind staying there again on my second trip.

The seaside hotel, although the beach is not very good, but the scenery is pleasant. The 5th floor is a restaurant. The restaurant is very good for eating and watching the sea. It is suitable for vacations and is about 5 kilometers from the urban area.

we spent the last three nights from our vacation in zanzibar in this lovely hotel and were impressed generally by the exceptional service, we got 5 star reception upon arrival ,made us feel quite at home, the smiles and courtesy of the staff, the general ambiance and general outline of the hotel,the rooms which we had booked were sea view and had a spectacular touch to it quite genuine African not too shouty but makes one feel entirely at home with a nice African and local zanzibari touch to it , the hotel itself is authentic and has quite a history as i got to learn from the front office manager samuel and team and holds a lot of memorabilia that touches on its authenticity and makes it quite remarkable, the restaurant is classy with an African finesse and Joe and team are always taking good care of everyone,touching on the needs and restrictions that we highlighted upon check-in the hotel had a conference ongoing but we could feel the warmth and hospitality everyone was getting by the appreciative faces that surrounded the environs,it was quite an experience i was also met by the GM Farid who was more than welcoming and i assured him that this will not be the last time i visit such a lovely place and will definitely recommend

Absolutely loved our stay at Kwanza, my mom and I had the best time. We were greeted by Caroline who always had a smile. Lucky was so jolly and helpful with our bags. Ahamed was always ready to assist with any and everything. The rooms were spacious and clean though there was a day where housekeeping forgot to come and spray the mosquito repellent. We had the best spa day and would highly recommend the full package. The food was exceptional and plentiful, we got the all inclusive package so we had all meals served and would recommend that as the resort is located far from other places. The bar service though needs improving as they were slow because there was only one server per bar but the cocktails were great!! I had forgotten my phone at one of the bathrooms and it was returned to me before I even noticed so the place is very safe.

We recently stayed for seven nights (myself and my two daughters - one adult and one child). Location is amazing - right on the beach with picture book views from the room and the balcony. The swimming pool was a welcome addition and the restaurant always delivered great Italian food. Breakfast was plentiful. On a few nights, we took a short walk along the beach to try out some of the other restaurants but nothing compared. The staff just couldn’t do enough and were very friendly. The resort is small (just 15 rooms) and is located at the quieter end of Jambiani so not too busy. Airport transfers worked perfectly (you have to request them in advance) and the hotel arranged some unforgettable custom day trips for us. The room was basic and quite small but more than adequate for what we needed. We were treated a few times to the colobus monkeys in the trees right next to our balcony and you can hear the gentle crashing of waves in the room. If I had to be picky - a fridge, kettle and safe in the room would have been useful. Otherwise no complaints and this is right up there as one of our favourite holidays ever.

If you want to enjoy your holiday, please do not book at this resort! The first day we arrived in the evening around 23:00. To check-in, they are making a copy of your passport (while this is not happening in other resorts in zanzibar or tanzania). Coming in to the room we saw that the beds were full of stains and there was a huge nest of insect eggs in the shower. After going back and forth to the reception they finally changed the bedding and removed the insect eggs. The next day they came for a deepcleaning of the room. The power at the resort keeps falling out, hence your aircon will stop in the middle of night. In two weeks time this happened a couple times every night. Everytime, we woke up from the heat and then noticed the aircon was off again. We also stayed at another resort where there was no power outage at all, thus this was a problem specific to paradise beach resort. Likely due to overload on the power network. At a certain point the aircon stopped working all together. Luckily they were able to fix the aircon. The matrass in the main room was sagged. My mom already had pain in her back and it didnt get any better sleeping on that matress. We went to another resort for 3 days and here the matress was good and my mom didnt have that much pain in her back anymore, until we returned to Paradise Beach Resort, where it started all over again. Since I cannot eat meat, garlic or union we checked out the a la carte restaurant before we arrived, but unfortunately this restaurant was closed (without notifying us beforehand), only the snacks could be ordered. This made it very difficult for me to eat something nice on holiday. At a certain point the entire coconut bar was closed, which meant I did not have any food at all. We had to contact more than 3 people from the resort in order to get some food, each time telling us its not possible. Eventually the chef of the restaurant did make the samosa for me, but it took us more than an hour to even get it arranged. Additionally, the walking buffet was not clean at all, as the first day the yoghurt was sour but the second day it was not, indicating to me it was kept outside the fridge for way too long. There was also some blue/white stuff on the cheese, and the guests in the resort are touching the food with their bare hands and tasting the souces from the spoon and putting it back in. The resort didnt pay attention to all of this and just let it happen. My mom still has stomach ache from eating the buffet. The bathroom has a horrible sewage smell, as the sewage smell comes up through the toilet. This is also something we havent experienced in the other resort we stayed in or in the lodges of the safari. So again something specific to paradise beach resort. The pillow outside had been pooped on by birds, and instead of cleaning it, they just turn it around. Not acceptable and really disgusting! Last but not least, one of the last days we went to the butterfly centre, and I had left my sigare

First of all, the advantages here are designer hotels, design with great care, rich characteristics, everywhere can make blockbusters. There are also many shortcomings. First of all, the location is remote and the price is not cheap. Except for the hotel itself having two kayaks, there is no sea exercise. The beach is not good, because there are fishing villages nearby, so it is dirty and there are many rocks. The food was exquisite and too delicate, leading to a little bit of food not enough. Unexpectedly, the fishing village next to it can buy the seafood that local fishermen catch every day. The price is incredible. I bring my own hot pot base to help the hotel process, which is absolutely satisfying for the stomach of the food. The hotel is built on topography, up and down are not very friendly to families with children, suitable for couples to travel

Every things are excellent and everybody are very pleasant, welcoming and always smiling. Kennedy, Edina, Peter, George Chef and all of them, without forgetting garden & housekeeping teams and Massaï people make the success of this paradise ! As the name implies, these are serviced apartments, it’s not a hotel. The location is slightly further from the beach than most tourist conveniences, but Paje is not big (we’re talking anbout 350m), and not being on the centre of tourism suits me better. It is quiet, has everything one needs, and John, the manager, was great. I would definitely stay here again. The only thing I might suggest was a discomfort, was that when we had one of the notorious big island-wide blackouts for almost 12 hours, Nebo wasn’t the most prepared. I actually come from a country that has struggled with constant electricity for several years. Generators, solar lights, and more than anything, reassurance for tourists who may not know the area, are useful. The cooker is gas, and cellphones come with torches, so I was completely fine. It just would have been good I think, given how quiet it was, to check. I’d still recommend it.

It has been a really nice experience for our family. The food was very good. The pool and the seaside were very nice. The staff were very kind, ready to meet our needs and desires. I would especially like to mention RANSO who was responsible for our family. He was always there with a smile and professionalism.

We were staying here for our first 5 nights in Zanzibar during our 12-night holiday which was not following a safari, we were exploring the island, staying in different hotels. For anyone reading this review I feel it is as important to provide some trip advice which I have learnt from our trip; the reason being the island of Zanzibar is best described as RAW tourism and there are points that you will need to know before travel and selecting your hotel base. The visa process cannot be processed using the official Tanzanian tourism site and the e mail address is not monitored so at this time do not waste your time on the official site. We selected an established visa online service provider who we found to be excellent, providing the visas within 6 days. A word of caution there is some confusion regarding the ability to obtain your visa on arrival at the airport for $50, on check in with Fly Dubai they requested our visas and confirmed that it was mandatory to have a copy prior to boarding. During the flight visa application forms were distributed but only to selected passengers who were not referrals, my strong advice is to have it before you go. So, Raw tourism, well the island economy is 90% dependent on tourism and the authorities are in my personal view making some very poor decisions which will impact on tourism. As of the 1st of October 2024, you will now be required to purchase mandatory travel health insurance from a single source in Tanzania regardless of whether you have cover or your status at a cost of $44 for each person. Your stay will be taxed each day at $5 each day for each person, so for a 12 night stay you can add on $120 dollars. This meant our stay cost us $246 for visas, $120 tourist tax and you can now add on $88 for travel insurance making an extra charge of $454. We took low denomination US dollars and sufficient to pay expected charges and tips, if you decide to pay by credit card be prepared for 3 – 5% charges applied to every transaction and make sure you check, as on several occasions we were present when clients were hit with a 10% charge, which when challenged was reduced to 5%. When paying with US dollars ensure you request that prior to paying the change is provided in the same currency and not the local currency shillings; The difference is significant in value. The island may well establish itself as a tourist destination of choice for Honeymooners and post safari relaxation, with its current stance it will struggle to attract return visitors. My apologies for my opening which has nothing to do with the hotel, but these are things which travelling from the UK I wish I had known before I travelled. We selected The Residence to be our second hotel following 5 nights in the north. We had been unimpressed with the standard of our first hotel in the north but enjoyed the area and beaches. What a difference this hotel provided, our villa was modern and spacious, we loved the grounds which allowed us to see varied wild

very disappointing experience, we paid Over 600usd for a family room which had an open plan bath and bed, the drains were smelly, the toilet seat uncomfortably High, suitable for those with heigh 5”8 and above. construction and design quality of the room was below average. the curtains in room had mold, pillow covers had stains, the extra bed for the kids was stained and dirty. terrible service at breakfast. i got my coffee after 30mins, at the time the breakfast area had 4 tables only so they werent busy. our friend found a snake in her suitcase on the day we were all checking out , the management was very casual about it, for your information it wasn't a friendly snake. also quite a distance from town. it has a nice reception area, a gym,boutiques, golf cart service to move around, boats available for boat rides, decent size pool.

I am writing this review whilst still in the resort and I have to say for what we paid for a family of 4, we have had/having a great time. The hotel albeit not very old has rustic charm given the materials they use and their determination to recycle, however even though the hotel is only 5-years old they are now renovating the balconies around the main pool, which can be sometimes annoying due to drilling. The staff here, in my opinion are extremely friendly and Jambo ”Hello” is the word you will always hear. Reception: We arrived in the resort at about 9am but couldn't get into our rooms until 2pm, which after 20-hours of travel is a pain and it appears that many guests arrive early so perhaps the hotel should think about revising their check in times? Rooms: The rooms are lovely, rustic and minimalist but comfy. They are cleaned very day and you can have your bed/towels changed as often as you like, you just need to make it known. There is a mosquito net over the bed, which the maids let down every night, whilst also spraying the room. We have been bit several times by mosquitoes so make sure you take plenty of sprays. Pools: We only sat round the Zanzibar Bay main pool, which was very nice. It has a bar that opens from 10am through until 7pm serving soft drinks and alcohol. The beer is nice and poured out of bottles so l imagine not watered down and the spirit measures are plentiful. The sun beds are a little uncomfortable but you get used to them. Look out for the resident monkey who is great entertainment and a great photo opportunity. Bars: As well as the pool bar around the Zanzibar Bay pool, there is also one around the Paradise Beach hotel side (guests can use either). There is the Coconut Bar, which closes at 11pm and a lot of guests drink in this bar in the evening. A special mention to Masoud who is a brilliant bar tender and so friendly. Restaurants: There are 3 restaurants, main buffet, which is ok but like all main buffets can get a bit repetitive. Breakfasts in my opinion are limited but you can always find something to eat. The Indian and Asian restaurants were great and have to be booked in the morning but are very tasty and well worth several visits. Trips: We spent days out on trips, Nmemba Island, which was snorkelling, dolphin spotting and sand bank, we also did a 3-stop trip, which was Spice Farm, Prison Island and Stone Town, which was a full day and dragged on a bit but was still interesting and finally we did another boat trip, which consisted of seeing the Rock restaurant, snorkelling in the blue lagoon, star fish and relaxing on Mangrove Island, which was excellent value for money. Weather: We stayed from 5th July for 2-weeks and the weather has been mixed, sun, cloud, rain but I think it's the norm for this island and definitely unpredictable but it was around 30 degrees each day and warm enough at night for t-shirt and shorts. Summary: I think because of the distance and the fact there are only so many things to do

The hotel is very comfortable and it is very good to get a little more than the previous opinion, but I find the note too hard ... The swimming pool would deserve some more maintenance, that's true. The restaurant is very long, but it's a constant in Zanzibar. The meat is coriace ... But the frame is beautiful. And above all, the staff is really nice and deserves a 4/5

If you are looking for a beautiful location with excellent service, you will be very happy at Zanzi Resort. We stayed in villa number 5, the villa has everything you need and the staff will go above and beyond to make your stay memorable. Included : Coffee and tea station Flashlight and lighter Umbrellas Room safe Anaya soap, shampoo, conditioner Hair dryer Bath robes Outdoor shower Private pool and cabana Path to the ocean FOOD : the chef will accommodate any request and his dishes look like a work of art. Excellent flavours and choice to suit your taste. Staff : the manager, Nivot was very kind and courteous. He will go above and beyond to make your stay pleasant. TIPS : Beach shoes are necessary as the shoreline is rocky. Cheetah’s Rock is 10 minutes away and well worth a visit. Book a massage, the ladies are wonderful and you overlook the ocean and listen to the waves during your choice of treatment. Stone Town is a short drive and they will arrange a driver to take you on a tour, we customized our tour, to see what interested us. This is a small hotel and a great escape, I would definitely return.

My family and I were in Zanzibar over the December holidays with accommodation booked at ngalawa hotel and resort. I must say the place was breath taking from the entrance. Palm trees all around. It was family friendly which allowed for easy entertainment of kids, with I don't know how many swimming pools( yes they are that many😉😄😄🙄). It is away from the chaos of the city but very close to a lot of activities and tourist sites. There is an in house travel guide who helps with tour booking and yes covid test booking. The staff was amazing always available. Restaurant also on site. I can write a book about this place. Go see it yourself 😉
