Grand Casino Hinckley

Overall, we a had a great time. Staff were very nice at the front desk, and seemed to be as accommodating as they could. The hotel is about a mile off of the 35 freeway, so it is convenient. If you need handicap parking, don't expect to get it or to park close. There is extremely limited handicap parking, and the overflow parking lat was closed for an event. Expect to have to walk far when you park. Although the gambling floor is now smoke free, they have a smoking lounge and smoking rooms. First impressions are the most important, and when you walk into the hotel lobby, you are overtaken with the stale, undesirable smell of cigarette smoke. Not good! There are 3 open restaurants and a three bars which we noticed. They buffet is closed, and when asked, there is no plan to reopen it yet. They do have people walking around and offering bar drinks, but they are few and far, so I wouldn't rely on that means for drinks. You are better off going to get your own. Stories restaurant has good food and service. The Hostess could have been more welcoming, but we are all entitled to off days. Our hotel room was pretty wore out. Furniture was outdated and beat up. Carpet squares in rooms are fraying. TV's are old and remotes don't reliably work. They have had a lot of use, thus intermittently work. Linen is all white and smells freshly washed. Our room had chewed gum on the floor next to the bed and under one of the beds. You can tell they don't deep clean or remove furniture to vacuum, because there is a layer of white dust behind the bed, nite stand and desk which hasn't been cleaned in a while. If you are Zombie Virus concerned, I would bring your own disinfectant wipes to clean remotes, phones, knobs, fridge, and anything else other people touch in the room to ensure it is disinfected. There is no sign that they do it. Rooms are loud. You can hear water running in other rooms, the people talking in the connected room next to you, and people yelling, running and kids screaming in the halls. There is a big crack under the door, so we stuffed a towel under the door to help deaden the hallway sound. We were told the hot tub was not working, but it was when we checked it out. The pool and area is nice and clean with a lot of big windows and natural light. We didn't swim, so I am not sure if there were pool towels available for use. Overall, I would stay again. I would not pay the close to 140.00 a night again though. If it the hotel was updated, this facility may be worth that price. There is a game room near the front desk for kids, the pool, hot tub, bars, and good food. I would give this hotel and ****** a C+ grade with room to learn from the patrons whom keep it in operation.

Check in was ok... Although clerk stated they were full when we arrived after midnight and we had booked thru their Res Dept. Once she found out I was a diamond member she then changed her attitude! Pool is down due to some funk in the pool Breakfast was so so, eggs were very salty! Coffee should be available all day but they only have it during breakfast hours, however, they will give you packets for your room but no creamer so I need to run over to Walmart to grab some!

Four Seasons Hotel Minneapolis

We stayed at the Four a Seasons for a quick weekend. They emailed in advance of our stay to see if we needed a car service, dinner reservations, and to gather other preferences. Everything was exquisite from start to finish. This is a brand new Four Seasons (and my new favorite)! A spa treatment is a must—I booked a massage with Lindsey and it was the best massage I’ve ever had! The only (small) minus is that the co-ed hot tub was in the same area as the indoor pool. So there are children in the area (with all that entails). But there is also. Hot tub, sauna, etc within the gendered locker rooms that are kid free, so plenty of alternative options.
Holiday Inn Express & Suites Rochester – Mayo Clinic Area

I stayed here 2 nights in late August of 2021 in Room 304. I was here on pleasure checking out Rochester again since living here once for several years in the 1970s during my early childhood. The hotel is located in a complex with multiple buildings around in front. The other buildings in front are restaurants and shops. There is a good pizza place and a philly steak sandwich in one the buildings. Also McDonalds is within walking distance or about 100-150 yards away. Head left from the hotel entrance through the parking lot till you get to the street and turn right. McDonalds is on the other size of that street on the street corner. The front of the hotel has a large overhang roof in front of the main door. So you would not get wet if raining. You walk through two automatic sliding doors to enter. Upon enter the lobby the reception desk is immediatley on your left. You keep going straight to reach the grey color elevator. The breakfast area I think is on the right side or opposite the reception desk(not sure since I did not try it). On my floor, the ice machine(push button to drop in bucket) and soda pop machine were next to the entry hall to the elevator. Interestingly the flooring in the hallway for the elevator is tiled whereas the hallway is carpeted. Upon enterin my room the bathroom is on your left. Upon entering there is a large wide counter with a single sink in the middle of iton the left. The toilet is opposite the bathroon door and the shower(no bath). The bathroom is just big enough for 1 person but it would be a little tight with more than 1. Just past the bathroom on the left is an open closet with hangers to hang your clothes on. There is a shelf above the hanger along with an iron and ironing board. Opposite the open closet is a small metal sink with a good size refrig underneath and a microwave above the sink. There is a small cabinet above the small microwave. I should mention the flooring in this area is tile until get to the bedroom area which carpeted. Past the closet on the left are two queen bed. There is a night table in between witha table top of roughly 19 inches by 2 feet. There is an alarm clock, lamp with one free electircal outlet on it, and the hotel phone. There is at least 4 feet seperating the beds. Between the closet and the first bed is a short flat table with a 5 foot wide sofa behind it against the wall. On the opposite side of the room staring where the carpet start is a small dinning table with two chairs on both sides of it. Then a folding luggage rack. Then a 3 wide drawer cabinet(3-4 feet wide). The roughly 36 inch flat screen TV is on top. Then a sofa chair and small circular table next to it finihes that side. There is a very large wide window along the back of the hotel room with curtains . The AC unit is below the winow. I did not see any else other than soap bar provided by the hotel. Nothing else. The Wifi worked well. There is an access code you use to acc

I recently found myself in a pinch and needed a cheap motel room fast! I found Norwood Inn and suites in Roseville Minnesota through a quick google search. I was able to get a room for under $50 a night through Trip. To my surprise Norwood Inn and suites was a full functioning hotel with a pool, continental, breakfast, and modern amenities, comparable to any major hotel chain. The front desk and rest of staff were first rate! I recommend this place to anyone looking to book a cheap but nice place to stay in the Twin Cities. Russell “Rusty” Strong Eden Prairie, MN
Best Western Plus Kelly Inn

We stayed at Kelly Inn while attending a Lions Convention. There had been a miscommunication on our reservation. The desk staff, Hannah, went above and beyond to accommodate and resolve the issue. She was very friendly, polite and respectful. The other staff were also very personable. Our room exceeded expectations and we really enjoyed being able to have our two small dogs with us. We sill be back!
