Bath is located in Somerset, southwestern England, United Kingdom, and sits on the banks of the River Avon, surrounded by rolling green hills. A distinctive local feature is its urban architecture built from honey-colored limestone, with neat Georgian-style terraced houses, arched structures, and classical facades lining the streets, creating a uniform color palette and a strong British charm. It also features museums, independent shops, cafes, restaurants, and public gardens. Its main features include its uniform stone architecture, hot spring views, and compact urban layout, making it suitable for walking tours and short leisure trips.Bath · 256m from downtown

The Avon River originating in southwest England nourishes the fertile soil of the small town of Bath. On the banks of the Pulteney Bridge, the river's turbulent southward gesture has also become a beautiful scenery in this delicate town. Pulteney Bridge is a stone three-arch bridge. Although it spans both sides of the Avon River, it is more like a bridgehead. It is only surrounded by brick walls and has no open-air form. There are no tea rooms, cafes, and souvenir shops. It is a good way to pass the time by listening to the sound of rushing water on the stone fence full of bird droppings. The west bank of Pulteney Bridge is a good place for tourists to take pictures. In addition to the rigid and soft Avon River, seagulls and waterfowl, this is also a relatively broad lookout platform before entering the narrow core scenic area of Bath city. Before the essence of the city of springs is revealed, please have a good brewing here.Bath · 811m from downtown

Royal Victoria Park is a large park in Bath. In 1830, the 11-year-old Princess Victoria presided over the opening ceremony, and the park is named after her. The park features many facilities, including a skate park, tennis courts, a bowling green, 12-hole and 18-hole golf courses and putting greens, a swimming pool, open-air concerts, and a popular children's playground. In southwest England, this botanical garden is one of the most notable for its collection of limestone-loving plants. The park is filled with towering ancient trees and lush green lawns, dotted with flower beds, monuments, and an open-air stage. The lush, unmanicured vegetation creates a natural, wild charm, typical of an English garden.Bath · 1.4 km from downtown

This circular plaza, which symbolizes the sun, is dignified in shape. The circular buildings are connected to three forks, and Brock Street (Brock Street) extends straight to the crescent building on the west side. In fact, the connection between the square and the crescent building is the careful layout of the old John Wood in the urban planning for Bath in the 18th century, taking the meaning of "the sun and the moon shine together". Although the Crescent Building was later completed by John Wood Jr., the concept of the old John Wood's configuration of street houses in a circular or crescent square became popular in later generations, and urban planning in places such as London and Edinburgh has become popular. had a profound impact. The scale of the square is not large, but the planning is unique. A towering ancient tree is planted in the circular open space in the middle, and the surrounding buildings are all Georgian buildings. The ring road between the ancient trees and the buildings can be used for pedestrians and vehicles at the same time. . It is said that its design inspiration came from the Colosseum, but the structure of the Colosseum is admired from the outside in, while the circular square is the opposite.Bath · 1.2 km from downtown

The approximately 11-acre Alexander Park was opened in 1902 to commemorate the coronation of Edward VII and was named after Queen Alexandra. It sits at the top of Beechen Cliff, where you can enjoy panoramic views of the world heritage city of Bath. Alexander Park is one of the more beautiful views in the city: on one side is the cliff, the view of Bath below is breathtaking, and a stitched Bath is laid out in front of you, which is very spectacular; the other side is Bath's LyncombeVale, with its rustic vibe, is a classic bucolic landscape. Although it takes about 20 minutes to climb to the top of the mountain, the scenery on the top of the mountain is worth seeing. Here we can stand on a high place overlooking Bath and appreciate its beauty that has been lingering for thousands of years.Bath · 249m from downtown

The Avon River flows through the urban area of Bath, separating the new city from the old city. The surrounding environment is elegant, there are many 18th century Georgian buildings scattered on both sides of the bridge, standing on the bridge head, overlooking the scenery on both sides of the Avon River, as if in the water city of Venice. The Pulteney Bridge over the river is one of the most beautiful stone bridges in the world. In summer, you can take a rafting cruise on the Avon River. Walking along Great Pulteney Street, you can enjoy the endless hills and valleys, dotted with red tiles and green houses, just like the idyllic scenery of England described by the writer, which is leisurely and fascinating.Bristol · 7.5 km from Bath

The British Museum

The British Museum is one of the largest and most renowned museums in the world. The British Museum houses over 8 million cultural relics and treasures from around the globe, with its vast quantity and diversity of collections being rare among museums worldwide. Rich collection of treasures Due to its vast collection, The British Museum can nearly showcase the entire course of world civilization. Despite spatial limitations, it still displays approx. 50,000 items simultaneously. The main collections date from the medieval period, with particular renown for ancient Egyptian and Greco-Roman artifacts, alongside a wealth of precious cultural relics from Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and the Americas. Many cultural treasures from around the world can only be seen in their authentic form here. Ancient Greek-style main building The main building emulates ancient Greek architecture, featuring a grand entrance with a tall colonnade flanked by eight thick and towering Roman-style columns on each side, topped by a pediment roof adorned with reliefs. Entering through the main door leads to the great court, which is connected to over 100 galleries of various sizes surrounding it. Inspired by the Louvre Pyramid, the great court is bright, spacious, and elegantly minimalist. Bright central atrium The great court was originally part of the British Library. After the library moved out, it was transformed into a covered square with a white color scheme. The square's massive semi-transparent roof is composed of many uniquely shaped glass panels, combined with white stone, ensuring excellent lighting even on gloomy days in London. The sculptures displayed in the court are genuine treasures, such as the marble lion and Easter Island statues. Additionally, artists from around the world occasionally perform here, adding a relaxed atmosphere to the solemn museum. At the center of the grand atrium is the reading room, displaying art literature and books open to the public, where travelers can admire the dome and quaint circular bookshelves up close. The entrance of the reading room is marked with the names of notable figures to commemorate their time spent reading here. Cafés and restaurants are located on both sides and above the grand atrium, offering dining options with a view overlooking the entire space. Along the outer edge of the reading room lies the museum shop, where visitors can purchase souvenirs after their tour. Three iconic treasures The Rosetta Stone: Originally from Egypt, this stone bears three different script versions of an ancient Egyptian pharaoh's decree. Through comparing these scripts, archaeologists gradually unlocked the key to deciphering ancient Egyptian civilization. However, the Rosetta Stone displayed at the Egyptian Museum in Cairo is a replica. Admonitions scroll: The scroll consists of 12 paintings in total, with The British Museum housing 9 Tang dynasty replica versions. The Admonitions scroll ranks 39th in BBC's "A History of the World in 100 Objects," highlighting its immense cultural and historical value. Throughout history, the scroll has been collected by numerous emperors and high-ranking officials. The Elgin Marbles: These are sculptural fragments from the Parthenon, with a history of over 2,500 years. They have been housed in the museum for over 200 years since the British royal family purchased them at great expense. Specialty exhibition halls Asian pavilions: Halls 33 and 95. Hall 33 features artifacts from China, South Asia, and Southeast Asia, including collections from countries like India. Hall 33B is dedicated to Chinese jade artifacts, while Hall 95 showcases Chinese ceramics. The British Museum is one of the museums with the largest collections of lost Chinese artifacts, housing over 25,000 pieces, with approx. 2,000 on long-term display. The exhibition is meticulously designed, organizing Shang and Zhou dynasty bronzes along a chronological sequence, displaying artifacts from the Shang and Zhou, Qin and Han, to the Republican era. The major kilns of porcelain are divided into different curated sections by Ru, Ge, Jun, Ding, and Guan styles, presented professionally and systematically. Recommended artifacts to admire include large Tang tri-color ceramics, the Song Cizhou kiln "circus pillow," the Yuan blue-and-white fish and algae pattern large plate, Ming Xuande cloisonné, and Dunhuang mural Buddha statues. Ancient Egypt exhibition hall: halls 4, 61-66. One of the popular spots in the museum. The exhibits include mummies. The ancient Egypt hall is also one of the most visited exhibition halls, and almost all visitors to The British Museum make it a must-see. Ancient Greek and Roman galleries: rooms 11-23, 69-73, 77, 78, 82-85. The entire Parthenon is truly awe-inspiring, along with numerous ancient Greek marble sculptures and exquisite artifacts like vases. Don't miss the Portland Vase in room 70. Some exhibits are not suitable for long-term display and are only open during specific periods each year (including the mentioned Admonitions scroll). A very historical town. The car shuttled through the streets and alleys of Bath, and it turned out that this is the hometown of "Jane Austen", the female writer who wrote "Pride and Prejudice". Simple, beautiful, leisurely, peaceful, elegant and quiet. It can only be said that it is difficult to describe its beauty. very nice. There are many tourists, but it is very orderly. The air is also very good. It felt nice to take a quiet walk.

A small mountaintop park that is open to the public for free! There is an observation deck on top, and the main observation deck has a panoramic view of the classical town of Bath. Another small observation deck has a view of the Royal Crescent and Circus. The scenery is excellent when the sun is bright. There are wild raspberries on both sides of the road, and you can see busy bees collecting honey. If you are brave, you can come here at night to enjoy the night view of Bath. When it is clear and cloudless, you can see the stars with your naked eyes (it is recommended to walk together after dark, as there are no lights on the road). The location is near the train station. There are many small paths to the mountain, and there are benches halfway to stop and rest. There are also roads that can be driven up by yourself. But it should be noted that if you choose the path closest to the train station to walk up the mountain, the steps will be slippery or even icy in winter, so pay attention to safety.
