Hon Thom Cable Car - Sun World Hon Thom is a three-rope over-sea sightseeing cable car connecting An Thoi at the southern tip of Phu Quoc Island with Hon Thom. Spanning nearly eight kilometers, it is one of the few long-distance over-sea cable cars in the world. Departing from the Phu Quoc Island side, the cable car passes over several small islands on the sea before finally arriving at Hon Thom, with a one-way journey of about fifteen minutes. The cable car operates on a three-rope system, and its cabins are equipped with large glass windows, allowing passengers to enjoy a 360-degree aerial view of the azure sea below, the scattered pristine islets, and the distant skyline. As the cable car gradually moves away from land and out over the sea, the view transitions from nearshore reefs to the open ocean, and on clear days the layered variations in the color of the water are especially distinct. Suspended between sea and sky, the cable car glides slowly forward, with dotted fishing boats occasionally visible below. Dong Hoa Hiep Village, Cai Be, is one of only three national cultural heritage settlements in Vietnam, and this old house is one of the top 10 in the country. A Western-style facade wall was added about 100 years ago, but in 2004, the cultural heritage was restored to its original wooden facade. It is now famous as a restaurant serving Mekong cuisine.
