Old Quebec is a historic district in North America that retains its complete city walls. It was founded by French explorer Samuel de Champlain in the early 17th century and was once the capital of New France. The old city is divided into the Upper Town and Basse-Ville, and is still surrounded by fortifications such as walls, bastions, and gates. The Upper Town is situated on the high ground of Cap Diamant, with the Château Frontenac standing at its peak as a landmark of the old city. The Dufferin Terrace, located right next to the castle, offers sweeping views of the magnificent St Lawrence River. Basse-Ville is built along the river and centers around Place Royale, where the Notre-Dame-des-Victoires Church is located. The old city is home to numerous churches and convents, with stone houses, copper roofs, and French-style facades creating a unified and unique streetscape. The Upper Town and Basse-Ville are connected by a cable car, or you can walk between them along the Breakneck Stairs, experiencing the legacy of centuries of French colonial culture on the uneven cobblestone streets.Canada · Quebec City

Quartier Petit Champlain is the birthplace of Old Quebec and is often considered one of the oldest commercial streets in North America. The street is narrow and paved with cobblestones, lined with stone cottages. Historically, fishermen, dockworkers, and shipbuilders lived here for generations, while today it is filled with rows of small handicraft and souvenir shops, as well as galleries and restaurants. Many shops are run by local artists and artisans, and strolling through it, you can easily feel as if you are in a small European town. There are many noteworthy details on the street. The massive murals painted on the building gables use trompe-l'œil techniques to depict the fires, landslides, and wars that this district has experienced. The Breakneck Stairs at one end connect to the Upper Town, and the platform in the middle of the stairs is a viewpoint for overlooking the entire street.Canada · Quebec City

Notre-Dame Cathedral in Quebec is an ornate Baroque cathedral with two distinctly shaped spires on the left and right. The largest church in Quebec, with a history of 350 years, is the oldest church in North America (north of Mexico). The church itself has suffered several fires, and the church we see now was rebuilt in 1925. To the north of the church are the Seminaire de Quebec and the University of Laval.Canada · Quebec City

Located on the north side of the Plaza de Armas, all the shops maintain the appearance before the 18th century. The signs of the shops are simple in style and written in ancient French, which is very flavorful. To the northwest of the square, through St. Anne's Street, there is a Ruede Tresor Street, where many street portraitists paint their paintings randomly on the walls. Usually this street is also a place with more tourists.Canada · Quebec City

This is the place where Champlain built houses earlier in 1608, and it is also the birthplace of French culture in North America. Commercial activities began very early, and wealthy businessmen built Chinese houses here, making the place quickly become a busy commercial center. Today, there is a bronze bust of Louis 14 in the center of the square, and the houses of wealthy businessmen at that time can still be seen around. Every summer, the square holds concerts and performances by street performers, which is very lively.Canada · Quebec City

To the right of the star-shaped fort is a vast expanse of rolling hills, a site known as Battlefield Park. In 1759, the British and French armies fought a decisive battle here. The French were defeated, and Quebec City became a British colony. The 250-acre battlefield park, with its panoramic views of Liaoning, combines leisure, culture, and history. In spring and summer, when flowers bloom, picnicking on the lush green lawns and enjoying concerts are truly a joy. The park also features remnants of weapons from the war and memorials dedicated to those who lost their lives.Canada · Quebec City

The cobblestone streets of Old Quebec City are uneven, and the wheels of my suitcase clattered loudly. Houses huddled together on the slopes, their wrought-iron railings rusted, small flowers adorning their windowsills. The aroma of bakery steamed through the alleyways, and around the corner, an old man played the accordion, his melody slow and gentle. Reaching the castle, the St. Lawrence River shimmered grey beneath, and the wind chilled my face. At sunset, the shadows of the city walls stretched long, smoke rose from the chimneys, and the whole city was enveloped in a quiet, golden twilight.

Located in the old town of Quebec, near the cruise ship terminal, you can walk down the stairs or spend a little money to take the cable car down. Petit Champlain Street is not long and is built along the mountain, but there are many shops, especially restaurants and bars. The road is still paved. A bit French!

Compared with the Notre Dame Basilica in Montreal, the colors here are much softer. The whole inside is golden, with only a hint of blue on the roof, which makes people think of some religious stories.

Tresor Art Street is really great. There are many creative shops here, and many of the shops have beautiful ice sculptures in front of them. Walking here, you feel like you are walking in a small town in Paris.

This place is also called the Battlefield Park. It is a large plain. Maybe because of its history, it was also a very large battlefield in ancient times. It is not bad here. It feels very historical and beautiful.

The lower town mainly revolves around the Citadel of Quebec. This circle is full of very old houses, which are now basically turned into various small shops, which can reflect some history.

St Anne's Cathedral Sainte-anne-de-beaupre’ basilica is located on the outskirts of Quebec City. The design of the church is as exquisite as a jewel, with exquisite Gothic stained glass. The statue of St. Anne on the top of the church is made of pure gold and is extremely precious. The church is world-famous for healing the disabled. Our experience of visiting the church was also magical. It was raining heavily on the way there. When we arrived at the church and parked on the roadside, the rain stopped completely. When we finished visiting the church and came out, the sun shone brightly. A rainbow appeared over the church and everyone said we were so lucky that St. Anne had appeared.
