Both snowmobiling and the bear ranch are worth experiencing. Before setting off, I thought they were similar, but in the end, I went to both. Snowmobiling is better with one per person (15,000 yen per snowmobile, cash only). At the bear ranch, it's 1,000 yen per person, and food is 200 yen per bag, also cash only. You can bring apples—I love their apples—it's really cool! The itinerary is a bit hardcore, so buy plenty of convenience store snacks to eat on the go.★

I joined the tour on November 15th. The bus was almost full, with people from many different countries in the group, but it was always our compatriots who were late. Sigh.
Our tour guide, Vivi, was very good. She had to speak the exact same thing in three languages, which must have been quite tiring.
The stops at each attraction were short. It was pretty much a quick visit, but there was no other way, as it was too far and time was tight.
The weather was so-so this time, mostly overcast, but during a brief break in the sunshine, I saw half of Mount Yotei and immediately took a picture.★

I chose to visit Jigokudani (Hell Valley) as my last stop, then checked directly into Ryūnoya, a hot spring resort in Noboribetsu. I left my large luggage at my hotel in Sapporo and only brought a small suitcase to Noboribetsu, having informed customer service beforehand. They were wonderful; they left our luggage there for free. The tour guide was also very friendly and professional, and the entire itinerary was well-organized. The snowmobile ride at Lake Toya was amazing, the pie at Lake Hill was delicious, the lake view from the observation deck was beautiful, and the bear ranch was definitely worth seeing. Jigokudani was spectacular. Finally, the tour guide noticed that the bus from my hotel passed by and let us park there for free, so we didn't have to drag our luggage through Jigokudani. Thank you so much to the tour guide and driver! Overall, this tour was very worthwhile. The tour guide informed us of the pick-up location the night before, and the customer service was excellent and responded quickly. It was a very clear and helpful tour, highly recommended. Tour guide Xiaoyu was fantastic!★

A solo trip to Hokkaido can be absolutely amazing! This "Sapporo Shiroi Koibito + Otaru + Mipai Snow Park" tour, booked just for one person, was heavenly!
✅ Shiroi Koibito Park: The chocolate factory is like a fairytale castle. Stroll through the exhibits while enjoying the sweet aroma of cocoa, and you can even DIY your own chocolate 🍫. Perfect for making souvenirs – so impressive!
✅ Otaru Canal: The canal is covered in snow in winter, complete with retro gas lamps – so romantic you'd want to film a K-drama! ❄️ The glass shops and music box shops along the street are fantastic; even the little trinkets you pick up are incredibly exquisite.
✅ Mipai Snow Park: Kids from the south went wild! Sleds, ice slides, snowmobiles… so many activities you wouldn't want to leave. Who can understand the joy of rolling around in the snow!

A truly delightful skiing experience! A day of heavy snowfall, with both existing and fresh snow, presented numerous challenges. Two complete beginners were able to ski a considerable distance under the instructor's guidance. The instructor, Xun, was extremely professional and patient. He also readily fulfilled our requests for additional snowscape photos.
Our guide and instructor, Liao, patiently explained everything along the way, helping us better understand the entire trip. I highly recommend booking the deluxe package; renting a skiing vanity and including four hours of instructor instruction is a great deal.★

Max was a skilled and informative guide, great area to kayak and lovely to pull up at a beach and have a swim! A bit of difficulty finding the meeting place but otherwise very happy with the experience.
