Molde: Journey Along the Atlantics Magnificent Route

Begin your journey in Molde, the “City of Roses,” known for its parks and gardens. Travel towards the traditional fishing village of Bud, passing the Romsdalsfjord, Malmefjord, and Elnesvågen, famous for producing Jarlsberg cheese.

In Bud, visit the Ergan Coastal Fortress from WWII. Learn about the dramatic history of Bud and take in beautiful views of the village and ocean.

Continue along the “bay of shipwrecks,” Hustadvika. Watch the landscape change from fertile countryside to rugged, windblown islets and skerries as you approach the Atlantic Ocean Road. This impressive road features eight bridges, including one that is 23 meters high, winding along the archipelago in a spectacular zig-zag pattern.

Stop at Eldhusøya, in the middle of the Atlantic Road. Enjoy a cup of coffee or a local pastry, or walk around the entire islet on a newly constructed walking path. This 10-minute stroll, accessible for everyone, offers an amazing view over the wild and open Atlantic Ocean. On a clear day, you might even spot a whale or a seal on the horizon.
