Half-day Private tour East coast - Best of Rhodes & Lindos:
>> Our program begins with a tour of the city of Rhodes
We will start our tour with a drive around the walls of the Old Town of Rhodes - the biggest inhabited medieval town in Europe. It was built in the 1300s from the knights of the order of St. John. The Medieval Town of Rhodes is inscribed in the World Heritage Sites List of UNESCO.
(The Old town is situated just outside the cruise port and you can explore it in detail at the end of our tour. It is not more than a 5 min walk to your ship. )
Mandraki harbor - we will stop at the place where the ancient and legendary Colossus of Rhodes once stood. It was known as one of the seven wonders of the Ancient world. We will also enter the Church of the Annunciation which is the biggest Orthodox church in the town with very beautiful handmade paintings on the walls.
The northern point of the island - where the Aegean sea and Mediterranean sea are meeting each other
Monthe Smith Hill - for a beautiful panoramic view of the city
Acropolis of Rhodes - pass by the Temple of Pythian Apollo
>> Then we will drive along the East seaside through picturesque villages 50km away to the beautiful village of Lindos
>> Upon request we can make a stop in a pottery factory - where you will be able to see how beautiful traditional ceramics are made - a technique that has been used from ancient times till now.
If you are interested in buying jewelry as a souvenir from your visit to Rhodes we can also have a stop at a Gold factory to find your unique piece.
>> We will stop for panoramic pictures of the white village of Lindos - from a place where you will be able to see the whole village together with its Acropolis on the top
>> St. Paul's Bay - We will make a stop for pictures at one of the most beautiful beaches on the island with a stunning view
>> Lindos square - Your driver will leave you just outside the entrance of the village of Lindos. You will have at least a 1 hour stay for a walk through the narrow streets of this traditional village and of course to visit its famous Acropolis(entrance fee 12Euro/per person). The Acropolis in Lindos is the second most popular Acropolis in Greece after the Parthenon in Athens. Lindos also offers a great shopping experience and wonderful beaches. Your driver will wait for you at the exact place he left you. Even if you are a little bit late he will still be waiting for you.
>>Then we will go back to Rhodes - we can leave you outside the Old City for independent browsing, or directly to the ship/hotel or at any other point of interest
