Reviews: A day trip to view autumn foliage at Kamishimi Kumanozha Shrine in Kumamoto, Japan, Takachiho Gorge in Miyazaki, and Ten'an Kawara.

This was a fantastic day trip with Gogoday! We departed from Hakata Station at 8 AM and arrived back at 6 PM. There was a rest stop at a highway service area. The itinerary included three attractions, and the time allotted was ample, allowing plenty of time to explore each one. Lunch was at Ama-Iwato Shrine, but time was a bit tight, so you could buy food at a nearby supermarket or beforehand at a Lawson convenience store near Hakata Station or at the highway service area. Finally, you could browse souvenir shops at Takachiho Gorge. The tour group consisted of both Chinese and Korean participants. Our guide, Mr. Zheng, first introduced the tour in Chinese and then in Korean. He was very kind and humorous, and there was absolutely no hard selling. He even gave us souvenirs! Thank you! 🙏

What a pleasant and smooth day! 🌞 The weather was amazing! Autumn in Takachiho Gorge is beautiful. Luckily, I didn't become an Aso refugee! 😂 I saw Mount Aso up close, it was quite breathtaking! Our guide, Daisy Wu Xia, was super nice – very professional service, a well-planned itinerary, and very helpful. She even shared local food and shopping tips with us
Looking forward to seeing you again!

Reviews: Kyushu Nature & Culture Tour: Sacred Forest, Aso Caldera & Rustic Onsen

Super fun! The Aso crater is incredibly cold, so be sure to wear lots and lots of layers! Otherwise, you won't be able to stand for even five minutes. Kusanagi Senri is great; you can get up close to horses, browse souvenir shops, and drink delicious yogurt. The ginkgo leaves at the shrine are beautiful, carpeted with fallen leaves. I initially thought Kurokawa Onsen would be boring since I didn't plan to stay overnight, and going into the baths alone felt a bit too sedentary. But I found it very enjoyable to explore. There's plenty of time. Don't rush to the first free foot bath. You can buy a hot spring egg for 10 yen, then walk further in; there's a foot bath for 100 yen per person that's less crowded and has some scenery. You can also buy towels from vendors. After your foot bath, explore further; there's a cream puff shop where you can buy many sweets—a very unique place. The whole trip was quite relaxing and not too rushed. Remember to bring some coins to buy eggs and foot baths at Kurokawa. You can also pray at the shrine!

Reviews: Kyushu Hidden Gems 1-day Tour: Kamishikimi Kumanoimasu Shrine + Mount Aso + Kusasenri + Kurokawa Onsen

The guide was friendly, and my Hong Kong friend, who was my travel companion for the day, took great care of me, so I had a great time. I was able to see many places I wouldn't have been able to visit on my own. There were so many amazing and beautiful scenes that I think I'll remember for a long time.

Reviews: [Lunch Included, Optional Boat Ticket] Japan Kyushu Takachiho Gorge + Kumamoto Aso Volcano Kusasenri Day Trip
Guest User2025-11-16
The itinerary was excellent and well-planned. The weather was perfect that day, allowing for close-up views of the crater. The scenery was beautiful, and the pace was relaxed and enjoyable. The tour guide spoke excellent Japanese, provided thorough explanations, and avoided being verbose or pushy. The beef set meal at the Chinese restaurant was also very good. This day trip is highly recommended. However, getting into Aso on your own is quite challenging, as it involves driving for over an hour through the mountains.

Reviews: Explore the secrets of Kyushu: Kumamoto's Jƫmi-ko Kumanoza Shrine & Amano-Iwato & Miyazaki Takachiho Gorge
Guest User2025-11-03
Taking the "Exploring the Hidden Gems of Kyushu" day tour booked through Ctrip was definitely worthwhile. The scenery along the way was breathtaking, with ancient charm blending seamlessly with nature, captivating the heart and leaving a lasting impression. Our guide, Li Xiangrong, possessed a deep understanding of the local culture, providing detailed and insightful explanations. She also switched fluently between Chinese, Korean, and Japanese, ensuring a pleasant travel experience for us.
