🌳 3 Must-Do Things at Amanohashidate
1️⃣ Climb to the top of "Umbrella Pine Park" for a bird's-eye view of the sandbar
→ Take the cable car to the top (round trip ¥720), and take a "reverse Fuji" composition from the viewpoint overlooking the sea.
→ Hidden spot: The west side of the observation deck at the top of the mountain offers a stunning view of the sandbar and the Aso Sea side-by-side!
2️⃣ Walk barefoot on the "Natural White Sand Beach"
→ Take off your shoes and walk on 2km of pure white sand. The seawater washing over your ankles at high tide is incredibly soothing.
→ Rent a bicycle (¥500/hour) and chase seagulls along the sandbar, feeling the shape of the wind.
3️⃣ Visit "Chieunji Temple" for amulets
→ Vermilion torii gates paired with century-old pine trees; seek amulets for academic success/marriage (from ¥800).

The guide, who spoke Korean, Japanese, and Chinese very well and had such clear diction that I thought she was a former flight attendant, even gave me her phone number, which made me feel at ease during the tour. She recommended good restaurants and gave me sufficient explanations so I didn't have to ask any questions. During lunch time, I left my wallet on the bus and the driver had to go eat, so I was very grateful that the guide tried his best to resolve the difficult situation. Fortunately, it was resolved, but I was sorry for bothering you during the meal. Thank you for telling me it was okay. She is beautiful not only in appearance but also in heart. I want to recommend this tour to people around me because it was so great!!★

Our guide, Miyamoto, and the handsome driver were incredibly kind (treating us like family and friends from afar) and professional (their excellent time management at every point and deep understanding of the local culture and environment), making for a wonderful and unforgettable journey for all the passengers. Before disembarking, everyone spontaneously applauded in gratitude. We were also incredibly grateful to have encountered the second major blizzard of the year, and to have enjoyed the abundant, gentle snow in the Gassho-zukuri village. ☺️Trip.com Picks
