They were a research team, not a sightseeing group. They shared their work very seriously, caring for and researching the ocean. There were adorable penguins, lively dolphins, and leisurely seagulls. Unfortunately, we didn't see any whales. The ship sailed very far out; the sea was calm and the sun was strong. Coffee and food were available for purchase on board.★

David is amazing tour guide. He is very knowledgeable and professional. The tour is a great experience that is hard to miss if your are visiting New Zealand. The Waitamo Cave tour is more impressive than the description. The hobbitown is like a paradise. We were able to get free drinks during our trip. Umbrella is available to borrow if it starts raining. We were able to go inside the hobbit house and check out the fine furnitures. These two places are worth the trip.★

Started off stopping for us to buy some meat pies, then went on an educational hike through the rainforest, which the guide kept very engaging. Then we went the rest of the way to Piha Beach and got to spend some time exploring there!About
